Not much to say here, except 'good luck' to us all in the final packing and safe driving/flying to our magical camping spot. My preparations are proceeding as hoped, and I can't wait to see everyone again. SOON!!!

Good night, farewell, dear Clyde.
Just back from a beer with MyDearFriend, GraiDawg and Copernicus B. They've packed MOST of the things and will head out in the morning. Safe travels to everyone who is hitting the road.

thanks all........you are great friends. damn, a lucky man am I *takes another shot*

we gave and had a great day with Clyde. Kept him comfy with pain meds.......took a last truck ride, head out the window, flapping ears and all..........saucer of milk, followed by scrambled eggs and sharp cheddar for his breakfast.
tons of pets and scritches,....... and tears.
bbq'd a big steak for our lunch, he got a huge juicy bone, with tons of meat on it.......loved it. Sort of sad situation, in that when done with the meat part, he went and buried the bone, for later....

naps, cool water, all sorts of "people snacks". he was wagging and such right up to the end......we all petted and sat with him, first injection was a sort of sedative......he slowly relaxed his head in my hands, and I cried like a little baby.......jeebus!! sobbing,gasping.......I must have been a sight! we were all crying, even the vet and helper.
Next, a sedative at 1K times the suggested dosage, and it was done............no more pain, no fear of pain.........I just shook, crying with no sound.
Damn, I try so hard to put forth a gruff exterior, and this ruined it.
the helper is a Burner...he recognized my truck stickers. and, in true Burner fashion, after we carried Clyde to the car, to be taken to the crematorium, he gave me this huge hug..........said "Blessings Brother, I'll dance for him at the temple", and told me he's one of the fire performers..............so kind.
well, I'm filling the empty spot with cognac, but, am leaving for the playa at 4 am.......so, off to bed.

Good Morning!!!

I'm adjusting my circadian clock in preparation for the drive, and for my "dawn patrol" Perimeter shifts. Been up an hour already!

Ygmir should have just left the house now.

MisaBlue should be in the air over the Atlantic now.

Some bicycle parts I ordered have failed to show up on time. But that's my fault for trusting the promised delivery dates -- and for waiting so long to order them. It Will Be Fine!

Yesterday I added EL-wire on the back of my "dress uniform" jacket. Hope the weather will be cool enough to wear it this year.

Blah, blah, blah. (*note to self: easy on the caffeine in the morning!*)
