Incidentally, I don't understand the "don't bring peanut butter" advice. I've brought it every year, and anyone who likes it should consider it. It's a great way to get concentrated protein, salt & fat into your body if your appetite is flagging, you can eat it on crackers OR bread . . . or by the spoonful if you're feeling hedonistic.

Which reminds me: if you lack a fridge or a dry cooler, you can keep your bread nice for 5 days or more by airing it out 20 min a day with the opening pointed away from the prevailing wind. i.e., is your bread sweating? Open it and let it breathe, despite your misgivings. And keep it outside of your tent in the shade (I put mine on top of my cooler, which is typically [slightly] off the ground and shaded under a tall vehicle or table).

This trick does not work with gluten-free bread, or completely preservative-free non-brand-name bakery bread. You'll want a preservative or two; I typically go for a nice Orowheat whole grain loaf.

Last year I vaccusealed a bunch of celery, and like Romper Room snack time, I got hell of down on some Ants on a Log.

Cold, juicy celery with PB on it?! SO good. SOOOOO good.

SMART. :) I thought about celery and peanut butter just now when I was typing, but don't have a vacu-sealer and tend to go low-tech with my food.

It sounds wonderful though. A perfect snack.

PB and apples, no fridge necessary. Good shot of energy. Makes a pretty good snack while driving, if you have a helpful co-pilot.

Chocolate...Unless you have an awesome cooler and you are some kind of fiend.
Peanut Butter/Caramel chew treats work better

A pan of fudge survived forgotten under a seat in the cargo van one year.

But that's fudge, not chocolate, and I'm not sure how many stages it went through before we found it, seemingly pristine, during Exodus.

That's a good time for fudge, by the way.

Whatever you do, do not bring peanut butter and chocolate, those two just don't mix.

How to bring chocolate: upon arriving on the playa, request person with RV fridge to hold chocolate for you. High quality artisanal chocolate will be given priority VIP placement in my fridge. Forget you gave it to me

This is not the chocolate you are looking for.....

Look, I'm not telling anyone how to live their life, I'm just telling you how to conduct your burn. And if I find any chocolate and peanut butter on you, there will be consequences.
