Dear gods the very thought of stepping into a portapotty without shoes is revolting.

Yeah, but five minutes out in the environment--dry, uv light--is going to get your shoes down to normal again.

Well, okay, I'm not a specialist, I have never conducted nor read of any research on this matter. However, I do know that the aridity, the alkalinity, and the uv are all hard on microbes. you're probably in more danger of eating something and having food poisoning.

I'm thinking that my belts might benefit from an application of Lysol once in a while? Or some such disinfectant? What would do the job without damaging the belt or smelling funny?
I like OdoBan. It's a multi-purpose cleaner/air freshener/germ killer and fabric refresher...has a eucalyptus scent. I'm bringing some for stinky trash control - you are welcome to try it out on your belt if you'd like to.
