Inside of the truck is packed except for icing and loading the cooler. Tomorrow the roof gets loaded (and maybe me too) which is the hard part and then it is Thursday and off to BRC, the dust and many of you. We'll be missing you, Fishy, and we'll have plenty of pics to share with you.

Spark: The Burning Man Story is showing at 8 PM on Thursday evening on Showtime. I'm recording it.

Hey Lucky, give all that MDF gang a big pre Playa hug for me.

Cheers Everyone!

The car is packed, except for the frozen stuff. Will pack those items in the early a.m. Heading out early (even though I have conflicting directions) oh well all part of the journey for me...lol

Safe travels,

Cheers Bar People!!

My house has so much room in it now! And the van rides like a luxury car...Amazing what a few hundred pound of weight will do to smooth out the road..

I'm fighting the urge to run around and grab more stuff to throw in. I have thought this out for a long time and am confident that I have everything I will need, but I have a bad habit of "but I might need this, and this...and oh yeah, this..." we'll see how well I restrain myself...

Something really cool happened at work yesterday. My boss walked in and sat a big jar full of change on my desk - my "going to burning man" gift from her!! Enough to cover one of many tanks of gas!!

Two. More. Days. and I'm heading west!

Safe travels to all.

Leaving noon Thursday. Tomorrow I load the last bits and pieces, go to bed early.

That is so awesome. All of my staff and bosses are so cool with me going. They send press pictures around to each other while I'm gone. I think they keep trying to find a picture of me doing or wearing something crazy.

I'm so tired. All camp gear and trike in/on car. Need to stuff the piles into bags now. Fill the water tank, put the stuff in the coolers. Try to edit the crazy amount of groceries I kept buying. Can't decide if I should go to bed now, and hope I am correctly estimating the time needed to finish... or finish and then nap with what is left before I leave. Maybe a little caffeine, and finish.

Been up painting for a couple hours. Last minute art. Have a couple hours to dry enough to pack it, then I'm done. Looked at eplaya. Gah. Reno is going to see a lot of desperate tourists next week.

Did anyone notice the uptick in people who MUST go to burning man AFTER the release of all of the large sound camps super star line ups "into the wild"?

Just sayin'...

think of it this way....the sheer number of "headliners" on the line-up rivals ANY music festival in the world, so $380 is a fucking bargain to these people who are used to paying $4000 for a VIP cot at Tomorrowland...

seriously....

Can one of you do me a solid?

I'm pretty sure Friday night at midnight, when I'm ready to leave for burningman, I'm going to be sitting in the van mentally going over every single checklist like a dozen times in dread certainty I've forgotten something absolutely crucial; say the olive pitting machine or the ice cube squarer or something equally critical to a successful burn.

So if one of you could swing by, oh I don't know, howabout around 12.10am and give me a push I'd appreciate it.

There comes a time in planning and packing when you have to say "That's good enough"!!!!!!!! 8)

Yes!!! My mother used to say that you do not finish packing, but you do stop packing. If I can't think of it right now, and everything I can remember is done. I must be ready.

I didn't finish my main projects, didn't make my early morning deadline, but I took the extra time between when I wanted to leave, and when traffic gets reasonable again later this morning, to do some extra cleaning up. I am leaving my apartment in better than average condition. So that's good.

Heading out now.

This seems to me a good argument that this musical aspect of Burning Man has diverged from the other many and various reasons for going. It seems to be a world of it's own, with self reliance not penetrating these last minute-ers very well.

VC! Arrgh...fingers crossed you make your connection.

My boss is shooing me out after lunch today...will spend the afternoon finishing up the bungee cord spider web from hell that the inside of the van is becoming - watching "Spark" with a friend tonight and leaving before dawn tomorrow!

I probably won't sleep much, even though I will try...

I'm flying to Oahu on Burn day. I'll ask the airplane driver to make a low pass over Black Rock so I can wave.
That'll be me in the 737 kicking up a ton of dust!!

Edit: got date wrong. It won't be Burn day.

Surely something'll be burning somewhere on whatever day it is, Capt'n. A wave wouldn't be wasted.

Don't forget your ticket, vehicle pass.

Hope everybody travels safe. :D
Use your seatbelts. Don't drive impaired. Don't text or talk on your cell phone while driving, including while stopped at a red light. I'm sure that's one thing LEO's will be looking for.
