I built an ice tray for the icebox in my 1977 popup trailer. The original one was missing. It took me WEEKS to realize that a 13x9 cake pan with 1x2s on the sides would be a perfect fit.

And I delivered the nutating secondary mirror I've been working on ALL YEAR to the radio telescope on Kitt Peak, so that my boss would let me go to BRC this year.

Had to focus on work all day but tomorrow is aaalllll about packing! I have lists and the lists have lists! The only bad thing is that I have a scratchy tickle in my throat.

I'm hoping to leave town Friday AM for Reno and outrun this crappy cold everyone seems to have.

Nice chrome work, I'll bet that ceiling vent works just as good as the cooler. You could get full air exchange in no time, I need one of those on my trailer vent.

It's a 240mm (or so) PC case fan...it's huge, but only uses 200mA. So it doesn't move that much air, but it's nice and quiet and will help along the natural convection that would happen with just a hole in the roof.

That's super nice looking maladroit! My own mini cooler design failed twice.

Next time I'll have to follow Figjam's instructions exactly and just have a big one maybe on the outside of the trailer.

Speaking of the trailer, it's ALL PACKED! Now I just have to fold it down, add the bike to the back, pack the van, hitch the trailer and tomorrow AM get some dry ice and head to Reno! I think it's a very good omen that today is the first warm, sunny day in SF in a month!

Who all's still home and packing like crazy?

Situational rabies all around. The number of miracle-seeking, totally unprepared, "I want to bring all my friends this year" people around here lately is amazing.

Anyway, most of my stuff is loaded into the car, minus the cooler and the small last minute things.

I found a block of ice for sale near the freeway. Icebox is cooling down.
Greywater evaporator is built and tested. Solar water heater plumbing tested, data points taken, starting to do the electronics work.
Big Excel spreadsheets of stuff nearly all checked off.
Looking forward to a day of oil changing, shower building and packing.

checking out a B29 for next year. leave to morrow night cooler drive up the hill from L.A.

took storage all day broken into parts with small kiddy pools that are plastic, but very strong and light,

one for sun shower and hydro solar rain making, two others for any leaks like water from a/c that drip off roof.

hope the old doll makes it up there. Geronimo !

Finally got the golf cart on the trailer. Jason put a little gas in the cylinder after checking the spark plug. Boom, it started right up. I probably flooded it by using the choke too much, or it could have been vapor lock. I struggled a few hours with batteries, and this kid got it going in 5 minutes. This kid saved the day, I must reward his kindness somehow. I've heard of spraying quick start in the carburetor, but not putting gas directly into the cylinder. Old dog- new trick.

Final loading Sunday, leaving daybreak Monday.

I've got about half of my gear cleaned. Pressure washer is sure getting a workout. Only two more large items - tent and Jeep. Many small items to be hand washed. Should be done by the weekend - I hope
