I live in Santa Cruz County about 100 miles from the quake and it woke me up. It was a gentle rolling here, but it was long. I logged into the USGS site and saw that it was a 6.0 near Napa and had a hard time falling back asleep. My daughter was up, she just returned from a night out and it definitely scared her. My son slept through the whole thing.
I am reading reports of damage and injuries. Here is a blog link that is updated: http://blogs.kqed.org/newsfix/2014/08/2 ... -bay-area/
I always tell people that I am pretty much prepared because of all my BM gear. I always have a camp stove, propane, extra water, and food. Loma Prieta was a wake up call, and one I have never forgotten.
