My predictions about 2005, oops I mean 2015, are all about the ticket stampede.
After this year, I think it's gonna get worse.

My prediction is that the only people able to get in will be those willing to pay a lot more than face value. We were planning to go again this year, have the time off and were ready but couldn't find any face value tickets. Our plan is to try to go next year, but it looks near impossible. Certainly wouldn't invest in building anything with any expectations of welcome.

Well, there were the ~69,000 people who managed to get a ticket from the Burning Man sales or STEP.
It's only some of those above who couldn't go who had tickets up for sale, except scalpers or scammers.

The vehicle permit will be a success in 2014 with less than 90% used - decrease for 2015.
The number of presales tickets will be increased to 5,000, with the individual sale decreased.
The number of virgins & international visitors will increase as a percentage of sales.
PnP camps will continue to grow and increase in cost.
Hotels in Reno will mount EDM festivals overlapping with the festival.
The man will stay grounded.
Increasing numbers of hippies and festes will continue to think they can just show up and find a ticket.

Google will get permission to streetmap BRC.
The new satellites will provide traffic and event coverage.
The ORG will have more videodrones.

Why?

In 2015, the annual Salesforce event, Dreamforce, will start on Sept 15. That's in San Francisco. This year there's many weeks between the events. 2015, they're only one week apart.

Dreamforce should draw in a big international crowd which could potentially be very interested in BM. Maybe not interested enough to fly all the way only because of BM. They might combine the Dreamforce & BM trip and then fly back to Europe, Asia, wherever.

I predict the LEO at BM to double in size creating more of a controlled festival, where burners are afraid to experience the burn without being harassed and violated.

I agree with 48_love; after reading many more complaints about snail mail this year, I'm betting a lot of folks switch to Will Call. This year's Will Call was longer for me than last year, but still not bad compared to others in my camp (including less than half the time it took for many who had EA passes!).

BMOrg will continue to explore other methods to decrease road traffic in order to allow for increased ticket sales. This will include issuing even more Early Entry passes to camps, possibly covering all directed distribution holders as a method to encourage people to attend earlier in the week and alleviate traffic problems. Burner Express will also be expanded as an integral service, and its use encouraged by BMOrg, reducing traffic even more.

I think the ORG will do a line to rein in the EDM camps.
there was a definite presense of "ragers" ie.. kids who just showed up following the DJ's
and didn't do anything to contribute aside from ending up in the med tent and having diarehha on the open playa after their molly kicks in

practically the total banning of sound lineups up to say 7 days before the event will do wonders and perhaps that commitment
to not even announce (like the old days) any named acts would do nicely and keep that herd away.

that being said, skrillex at the trash fence was the best act this year by far. </>

Good point. Let's say they'd all be corporate drones. I'd say they will be the above than average creative and intelligent corporate drones. Definitely they're not going to be the most creative artists you see out there. Also, sadly few of them can contribute with a lot of art. Well, think of how much art you could fit into your carry on luggage when flying for a few thousand miles to get there.

Nevertheless, the event (being close to BM in 2015) will give a nice opportunity to people from Europe and Asia to extend their stay in US and attend BM.

Let's see how it goes for myself. I might attend both events myself.

Camp placement, direct ticket sales and place in individual ticket sales line will be determined by the amount of money willing to be paid, for the community. Low income ticket sales will be targeted to the security and camp staff at the Plug and Plays, sort of how corporate thinking puts it's low rung employees on food stamps and welfare, for the community. More DJs and Plug and Plays, for the community. More celebrities and obscene wealthy acting like they are one of us, and plenty of us pretending that they are just like the celebrities, for the community. More generators, RVs, ravers, bucket-listers, for the community. Personally I can see myself asking more people over on the 9’oclock side if they are in Camp Douche, because I know it’s around here somewhere. Also mocking douche-ways and their incredibly weak and spineless riders will increase for me also. I also envision myself enjoying the comfort of air-conditioned porta-potties alot more, and striking up acquaintances with various security drones working for Plug and Plays. This will be for my own satisfaction, not the community.

Vehicle Pass: Program is extended to require a pass for each bike brought into the event
