I'm gonna just take a nap on Rhino's lap until his dog arrives. Crimes! My brain's abuzz, don't give a fuck about anything but shit, and just need a nap.
I'll be in my blanket fort until further notice.

Cat, robbi, not dog. A finicky yet deserving-of-the-best cat. She's wonderful, even having finally taught me how to understand cat language.

They speak in English contractions when they need something, and extend their words when they're happy.

Example of catspeak:

"ME'OW" means: "ME! NOW!" when they want attention or food. Simple and effective.

'Purrrrrrr' means " you're hitting the scratching sweet spot between my shoulder blades perfectly, keep going until I say otherwise".

I'll start taking care of her needs again tomorrow.

Tent speak please Dear Bar
I do not have a lawn to access
REI insists that I will ruin my tent by putting it in the industrial machine I have used on previous years clean-up.

Good grief everything is more complex.
they did talk me into buying their tech wash

Washing machine? yeah, that sounds a bit rough on the material, if there are grommets and hooks built in. How about a douse in the tub? and then hang on the patio? I'm waiting for a wetter time of year here, when using a lot of hose water outside won't get me in trouble. I think everything can stay dusty for a while longer. I did a lot of rinsing in the tub yesterday, and have a lot of playa to contend with. I'll set the tent up and hose it down later.

Afternoon bar, pours shots for everyone!

Rhino, I enjoyed meeting you (sorry I missed you on the cheers/jeers thread)!! So many new people, it was awesome to put names and faces together.

Well, since finally being home, life has hit like a wall. Laundry will wait a few more days.

Glad to read everyone made it home safe and hope to meet more in 2015!

Indeed. I also enjoyed meeting you. What a lovely lady you are.

And life does hit like a 'two ton heavy thing' constantly, to cut a quote from Queensryche. I started laundry this a.m., too, with two loads complete now and hung up/folded/put away. And there's so much more to do. Lunch today consisted of Melba toast with cheese dip from a can. Groceries are now a necessity. At least, though, I have veggies in the freezer to consume 'with relish' **rolls eyes**.

Nope. She only needs it because the law says so. She's a 100% indoor cat. She'd need a DISTEMPER shot to protect her from me. I can be an old grouch sometimes....but not that often.

I need a drink!
Dryer is broke so I have been hanging stuff up to dry. Brought in a load from outside in a basket and put it down on the bed. Later tonight I took a shower. Grabbed a towel out of the basket, took it into the bathroom, took a shower and went to dry off. I felt what felt like a cut on my pinky. I looked thinking maybe a bur or something, nothing. Still was lookin and felt this sharp pain in my right arm by my elbow. Saw this red dot and I'm like what the fuck? In my perf vision I see a god damn wasp flying around. Mother fucker (sorry for the large amount of spearing) he had been in my towel!!! So imagin if I had started somewhere other the. My hands and face...
But ya got strung twice, dropped the towel and ran, locked it in there and made john deal with it when he got home 15 minutes later.
I think he was more worried then me. He is like if you start having problems breathing you tell me right away and im taking you to the er. Lol he's cute.
But ya just swelled up a lot and have a big red patch of skin on my arm and it still hurts. Little fucking bastard.

What do we have to drink that has antihistamines in it?

Golly Rhino, I like you more and more every time we meet! Kitties are important. The rabies shot will be fine. Kitty (name?) could accidentally catch a rodent. Best to just get it over with.
Maybe this needs to go on the Damn Cat thread.

:coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

MyLarry still has a couple tents to rinse out/off. The ones we lend out, not ours. Ours is pretty pristine inside. I think the chairs too, but those all need a bit of repair. We still have about a month of yard water before that gets shut off, then we go to house water, which gets expensive.

I have all the clothes washed, and a lot put away. Still working through the hangings and curtains which make our oasis so lovely.

And then, art box time. Eep.

*wanders in, makes CCC*
interesting how some of us put stuff away all at once, plowing through till done, and some peck at it over a week or more.....I've been doing a little at a time, sort of enjoying the thoughts each thing evokes.

dang wasps TTG!! Benadryl is the standard.

Good Morning All !

sorry about the owie TTG.

still not tackling tent and sleeping bag
but all the other things are clean , just cannot seem to put anything away
in fact I cannot even understand some of the major feelings this year's event evokes.

Now I am going to be with my usual world and I am still vulnerable
maybe no-one will notice

Since you're asking and it's fun, her name is Kate. She also has the aliases 'Kitty-kate', Katy-cat', and "KATHRYN!" when she decides to scratch me (which luckily isn't often at all). Her number one place to sleep is with her head on my arm and with both paws on my forearm to hold it down on the pillow (or so she thinks). Her alternate spot is on my hip. She's a great kitty, and I rescued her from the pound over 12 years ago. She has regular medical care to keep her in top-flight kitty shape, and she still chases the laser pointer around on the floor for her (and my) amusement.

R.I.P. John S. Jacoby 1924-2014

My sweet father passed away this morning. He "died peacefully" which I now understand means they give him a morphine drip until the end. He went into ICU while I was at TTITD and nobody could get ahold of me. Isn't there any way to reach somebody in case of an emergency on the playa? Saw him on Monday and everyday since naturally. He had me give him his glasses yesterday and we watched the Oakland Raider game. Poor guy, last thing he saw in this life was the Raiders. He fell asleep as the game ended and never awoke. I love you Daddy.
