Somehow, I don't think so.

Bottom line: We are all human beings. People. Homo sapiens.

There is, to me, no color line, no line of sexual orientation, no line of gender, none of the things in the past that caused people to discriminate against individuals or groups. It's a hard lesson to learn well, but one worth learning.

Good. Then I'm in the right place as a professional scientist.

There has been, for a number of years, a trend in the literature to expand the vocabulary to make it less-than-accessible to the non-scientist by using words with Greek and Latin roots. The only hand tools that I know of that cost that much are made of pure beryllium, which doesn't spark. That's a critical thing in underground mining, especially in areas where there's methane concentrations just above the lower explosive limit.

I wasn't so sure until I considered having buttons made up to gift that had the word "Sherpa" on it with a big red slash thru it, it was either that or the term "No Sherpas".
Both ways it felt, to me, kinda racist.
