Yes mom. (This strikes me as somewhat an atypical comment for the BBadger)BBadger wrote:Guys! guys!
Trilo's response is more to point out the differences in outrage between those who just get to see the pictures of the mess left behind after the event, and the people who directly get to clean it up. The response is not saying you're not entitled to outrage. Nor is the response saying that you didn't do (more than) your fair share, or that the scale of what you did is less or insignificant in comparison to the event's LNT crews.
What is being said is that these LNT crews -- the ones with the direct, first-hand experience with the very worst of the messes left behind -- are able to control their outrage and instead are concentrating on helping people do better next time. They should be the ones raging the most, but they aren't. The photos that are posted aren't for shaming people or camps, they're for demonstrating what went wrong and what should not occur in the future. The fact that a camp was specifically mentioned in the blog is evidence that an especially egregious mess was discovered. Despite that, the response was more to understand what caused the problem, not cast blame for the act.
Swearing and raging is good to relieve stress (really, go ahead and do it!); however, after the initial fury passes, don't dwell on it and feed others' rage. The perpetrators are gone, and there's nothing more you can do about it. Spend that energy on a more constructive purpose instead.

Re: Bad Behaviour on the Playa
Sorry if this was already brought up, but I haven't been paying much attention beyond the first and last few posts and this seems a good enough place/time as any to ask this.
Speaking with a friend the other day he said that he noticed much more littering/abandoning this year than others... that there seemed to be a stronger party vibe that just didn't give a shit about any of the principles - least of all awareness of one's impact. A marked "laissez-faire" (or "fuckit - let someone else deal with it") attitude seemed to have infested his burn with a vengeance and gave birth to a fear of a trend that could easily tip out of control if left unchecked.
I'm not talking about Exodus or Turnkey or any specific place/time/people. Just asking what your take was.

Re: Bad Behaviour on the Playa
Oh I bet they did! Lots of "fucks" were uttered with each passing moment, only to be heard by the others helping to clean up the mess and the empty playa...lucky420 wrote:How do you know they (resto team members) did not in fact rage, cuss, vent over this? Because they didn't post here? And for all anyone here knows they may still be pissed off or not
It feels good, but with no additional fuel to feed that fire, it just gets tiring and interferes with what you're doing. They probably posted that blog well after they discovered that mess and were pissed.

Well so far the map is looking mighty green. I'd say just the opposite. I saw a lot of moop bags on hips and bicycles and moop was getting picked up, chased down and bagged every where I looked.

Re: Bad Behaviour on the Playa
There were about 2,000 bikes abandoned on the playa this year.

It's my fault.
I'm doing it wrong.
I'm sorry;
it'll be better last year.

Warm tar and feathers,
And pitchforks and torches,
Whip 'em and dip 'em
And toast 'til they scorches....

These are a few of my favorite things...

At least it's not as bad as a Dead show, with a gauntlet of people sitting outside offering bean pies in exchange for tickets...oh, sorry, I accidentally turned on my time machine to the 70's.theCryptofishist wrote:I dunno.
