You know you're getting old and losing it

Post by kiboy » Sat Sep 20, 2014 4:45 pm

When you type in ebola trying to get to this site. Seriously, I just did that. My brain is going. I'm afraid of what else I'll do on the Playa in 2015. Any advice?

I do that sort of thing all the time. Usually I had just been thinking about what I typed.

And double this proclivity if I am talking on the phone when I do it.

Ebola... Eplaya? I can definitely feel a connection. I think that was more than just a mind fart. That's why this goes in the philosophy forum. This could use some exploration imo.

About 7 or 6 years back I was riding shotgun in a work truck cruising east on I 80 through Sparks near the tank farm. I started feeling the top of my hat, searching around on the seat, the floor etc. My workmate who was driving asked me what are you looking for? I replied my sunglasses. To which he replies, you're wearing them.

Yeah like that. The other day I was hanging with a gf and we had our dogs out. I have a huge Mastiff/Pit (Kilo) and she has a shepard type (Shianna) and they were playing hard and going ape shit. I also have a small cha hau hau mix (Nina) that had jumped on her lap. We were talking and she was absent mindedly stroking it. All of a sudden she looks at the big dogs and her eye get big and she says "where's Nina!, where's Nina! all frantic like. I lost it lol.

You know, the truth is that those sorts of things have been happening to all of us all of our lives. We just start paying more attention to them when we get older because we have all been told those thing start happening when we get old. It's a big fat lie.

I actually yelled at some kids to get off my lawn the other day. Once I realized what I had done, I apologized and went back in the house.

Definitely a thing, and not just with relation to behaviors "typical" of aging: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_perception

You know you're getting old and losing it when you have no choice but to place a little blue pill a'top your raw oyster.
