I've hung around these boards since the beginning of August. I moved to California 2 years ago and sometime this July I thought about it and realized I'm not too far from that Burning Man thing I had always heard about. I went to the google and found tons of information. The more I read the more I liked the whole thing. Tried to get in on the OMG sale and it didn't happen. I watched on-line re-sale websites but from what I learned, not paying over face value is a principle that should be practiced. I did my part to stifle the scalpers. I felt if I had paid over face-value for my ticket to Burning Man, I didn't really go to Burning Man.
I enjoy the discussions and information on this forum and will continue to make it a regular part of my web-browsing. I especially enjoy the creations of Figjam. I'll be trying to get a ticket to the next burn. I also enjoyed the live web-cast of the event. When The Man burned it felt just like New Years Eve to me. Hope to be there next year.
60 yrs.old, retired. I was a normal kid until May 4, 1970, at 15 years old, when something that happened changed me. Since then my politics have been liberal and I have believed in freedom, self expression, and ..peace, man. When I finished hi-school I hitchhiked to California, stayed about a year, then went back to Chicago. I kept in touch with some of the people I met that year and we have been friends ever since. I refer to it as the best year of my life. I think there's some good ones yet to come. Maybe not as good as '73 but I'll keep trying.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
