LAST July, Caravan Palace played Mpls and I was SOOOO excited. My enthusiasm for this group got a good number of people I knew who had never heard of them to go to this show.
The week before they performed, I found out Social Distortion was playing not six blocks away.
I dunno how that slipped under the radar, buy natch, I went to that instead.
Was not disappointed in the least, even though I had seen them numerous times before
Years ago, I said, "lectro jazz is going to explode". Hasn't quite yet, but I said the same thing about Cider and that has.

Social Distortion has been through many band members.
I really dig the current line up.
Mike Ness, while not being the smartest or even complex member,
has a way with keeping it what it is and has been. True yo heart.
I want more musicians doing that.
I saw Jonny Two Bags play at The Triple Rock here in Mpls last April.
He opened for The White Buffalo.
I was nearly floored when I saw his band was the other Social D fellas
minus Mr. Ness.
OMG. Very few in this club knew who they were. WTF?

Now, THIS Band made me the punker I am to this day.
They are their own label, they had a show on air about
a tour they did, they are the most loved/hated/dismissed
Punk Rock entity.
It's too bad they made me too punk to actually get on the list
for this video shoot though.

Thanks Rhino, that was much more up beat.^Rhino! wrote:Flying Monkey, go up a few posts for some NEW Seger.....the tune 'Detroit Made'.FlyingMonkey wrote:Drinking wine listening to Bob Seger. I like his music but when I listen to his lyrics it seems like every song is about regret & missed opportunities, Like someone in the twilight of their life looking back at what could have been but wasn't, & maybe occasional but fleeting passion. Cheers my friends.
I hope it has you wanting to get up and dance, like it did me.
Cheers back at ya.
Not "half way through a bottle of wine" music but it's good to hear them do something like that.

Re: what are you listening to?
I've been listening to Peyton Manning yell "OMAHA"! as well as obsenities to Arizonas defense, when the Broncos have the ball. I get a kick out of watching him.
Broncos leading in the 4th quarter 34-20. That is subject to change though

I told my love a thousand times
That I can't say what's on my mind,
But she would never see
That this world's just not real to me
And tonight I think I'm gonna go downtown.

Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

I've been listening to Underworld's classic Dubnobasswithmyheadman recently. It's just turned 20 and gotten a pretty wonderful remaster/re-release to go with...but the record has really held up well.

This, to me, is simply amazing. It cuts through all the posturing and pretentious bullshit and says what needs to be said.
