I really doubt I would recognize famous people ( unless they have a huge entourage). I'd be thinking " wow that looks like_____". But not think it was really the famous person

I was there as part of a vendor's dog-and-pony show for the salesdroids, fortunately that's long over and done. At the time, I felt he was still early enough in his career to avoid selling out THAT much.

Early one morning back in 1986, maybe 1987, me and a friend were in downtown LA and stopped for breakfast at an old diner on 9th and Figeuroa St. As we were exiting the place Danny DeVito was coming in and he held the door for us.

When I worked in restaurants, sometimes the celebrities would come in. I would not have recognized Richard Gere or Morgan Freeman if everyone had not made such a fuss about them being in the restaurant.

I saw William Shatner walking down main street in Ashland. He was really short and fat so I wouldn't have recognized him but his voice was unmistakable.

Dolly Parton got off a puddle jumper I was waiting to board at DFW years ago. She waited on one of those airport golf cart things while someone brought her luggage up. And ya...her hair and tig o bitties are even bigger in person

After performing "Jolene" at the Glastonbury festival in 2014, Parton said that the song was inspired by a red-headed woman that Parton felt her husband was spending too much time around when they were newly married.
I heard a story like this a few weeks ago while listening to a local "classic" country station.
