Not my thing. Have other plans for the weekend like making some pottery which I have been neglecting

Wow this place is quiet at 5am. I'll just leave this bar game idea here on the white board. Has anyone attempted to hold a conversation using only 3 words at a time? It could be a fun game.
Ok I need to try to get a couple more hours of sleep before I have to be a grownup. I keep waking up at about 4ish, so I've been using this time constructively, self enrichment kinds of stuff. Then once I get whatever out of my head, I can go back to sleep. I woke up thinking of this game.

Hi gang!
Robbidobbs: you mean a game like the "in 3 words" thread here? but live. interesting.
Odds and ends, and loading gear today. then, tonight, it's "cat herding" for 24 hours straight.
the event is no big thing to me, but, some of the "self entitled "goobers can be interesting:
many of the "uber rich" types...fly in private jets from Europe, rent some car and driver and show up with no ticket, somehow thinking we (gate staff) will understand just how important they are, and believe they are "friends of the DJ"........I love the 3 minute dissertation on their status and import. then,, I give a one word answer: NO.
their expressions are priceless.
They usually work it out via cell phone and such, but in the mean time I set them in "D" lot and carry on.

and of course, there are wonderful people, too, who just make your day.

Yow good morning friends! I'm just blowing thru here on the way to werk, but I wanted to answer Odin's question. "Live" as in face to face, sitting in a bar and carrying on a conversation "in 3 words". It could be a drinking game!

Remarkable restraint, Yggy.

Here's an icepack and a kiss on the forehead, Lucky. One of these days, soon soon soon, we'll meet in person.

Top of the morning to everyone. :coffee:

Hi AntiM...hope you are feeling better today. Sleep is a good thing - haven't had much for myself lately...busy busy.

I bet Yggy has a good story or two if that's the festival he went to..yikes...

I am headed to work today. A sold out kids show at the theatre...ugh. Who the hell is Skippyjon Jones anyway?? At least I'm not on puke patrol, but we have a crew member who will be...it will look like a popcorn bomb went off when they all leave.

I went junk store shopping yesterday - found some excellent components for my playa bike project - when it gets a little further along I will post some pics in that other thread. Right now it's just a pile of seemingly unrelated bits and pieces.
If I've told you once, I've told you ten thousand times..jazz hands goddammit....JAZZ HANDS!!!

It seems the utility children have learned a lesson.

U.S. Infrastructure Corp., a regional/national utility location service, called me yesterday morning AT HOME to clear a job for the week of the 13th of October. My schedule said to have it cleared by Tuesday the 8th, thinking it might held up yet again by their lack of foresight.

I guess 6 'no response' tickets in a day woke them up.

Rule 1: Rhino will clear the utilities for excavation to the best of his ability and THEN some, but DON'T fuck with my schedule.

They learned. I just need to carry a big stick.

I submitted a survey to University of Denver yesterday, prompted by JackRabbit Speaks. They'll send me a $10 Amazon gift card now. I've never shopped at Amazon, so that should be a new experience. Looking forward to it.

This week: looking at rockfall and writing up results.

This seems to be the festival in question, but I do not know where Ygmir is working.

There is an other festival this weekend, in West Sacramento, called TBD, which caters to rich people, according to what I read. Maybe he is there.

Gotta run -- going out of town for the day.

Morning y'all. Sorry if I violated established procedures by posting a private message I received. It's sort of like my drinking at bars, though. At work there was a guy I didn't get along with. People from work would get together at a local bar to drink every great once-in-a-while. It was suggested to me that I should go to the bar and have a few drinks with the guy I did not like. The thing is, I don't like that guy, I really don't want to spend my personal time drinking with him. I had to deal with him at work, but in private, I would rather not. I enjoy drinking with friends and strangers, but listening to people I don't like on my own time telling me what is wrong with me, I try to avoid that.

Today I'm heading to a dog adoption event to hold puppies, then it's off to see some great musicians at a benefit in town. But first, more coffee.
