Oh what a horrible thing it is to really care about something, to feel anger and frustration over its apparent ill health, and to have to push against a phalanx--and just get roundly harassed.
I wonder what would happen if the board members got all Tao or kungfu with it, and stopped resisting... Then some sort of break through might occur.
But what do I know?

This site really could use a reply feature so one can figure out who the fuck is talking to who. It's kind of funny though if instead of trying to figure it out you just see a bunch of primates pounding randomly on keyboards.

*sigh, the internet ate my homework*
Since this thread is a place to obliquely comment on other threads where we don't want to interrupt the flow of useful information with wiseass remarks, it's really rather random, and conversation here is kinda useless...

A gentle reminder, my dear fuckos, that "Page Two" isn't to target other users blatantly, it's for commentary on other threads - as Fishy points out, obliquely. As it says on the disclaimer for this thread on the first page:

Only a dog? I like dogs more than I like most people. Human tragedy is the norm on this planet. Were it a common cause this conversation would not be happening. But scare humans with a new and unusual threat no matter how relatively small and all of a sudden the sky is falling.

Human tragedy is the norm on this planet. I should have said disaster instead of tragedy. Regardless, the tragedy of the loss of human life is more important than a dogs life, although there are a few humans on my better dead list.![]()

It's not that new or unusual. News services will play it up for ad revenue, click thru's, etc. There have been plagues and diseases threatening humans and animals since forever. The CDCs main job is to protect against this. SARS, Black Death, flu since 1917 come to mind. Hemographic fevers (ebola) aren't even that unusual- Hanta virus, marberg and Lassa are all hemographic fevers. Resevoirs of Hanta are in the US.
Evidence to date is that Ebola is fluid/ droplet transferrable. NOT an aerosal. It's not unlikely that a dog with ebola, in its sickness and pain, would bite or transfer salivia to its caretaker.
Everyone is so politically fucked up that they're segregating themselves in the name of equal rights and liberation.

Re: PAGE TWO
I spend more time with my dogs then I do with humans in person and while posting my dogs are by my side usually. This doesn't mean I don't like any humans though. I'm not completely exclusive.
That dog could have been quarantined for a long time. Or are you suggesting all the dogs and animals in Africa's critical ebola centers be euthanized?
The good part about putting a dog down is that they really don't know what's happening and don't have the same emotional fears of death or impermanence that humans do. If done right the dog just relaxes, goes limp and is gone. I've held a dog in my arms while it's happened and it was very peaceful except for me. I cried for weeks.
Well you could add that that is your personal subjective view here and not a universal truth. By shear number I would agree, many people might be worth more than one dog. But if you put them head to head I'd choose dogs for what some might consider logical reasons. And in the end maybe all life has equal value. I mean to the dog if they can/could think about it I'd guess they'd find themselves more important than some unknown and different species.the tragedy of the loss of human life is more important than a dogs life

You see what happens when you ask the playa to provide? If you've been very, verrry nice, the playa goes and steals some poor shmoe's gin, that's what happens.
I hope you're happy.

The playa didn't steal it, it provided that gin to somebody else. I sure hope so, anyway, because otherwise that's just a waste of good alcohol.
