I found that my expired passport had expired beyond the date I can mail for renewal. Luckily I got an appointment for today to get this done in person.

they're showing the fire at 400 acres this morning, so seems the cooler weather might help it slow......hoping so anyway.
I80 east is back open, but only one lane. (for anyone heading Reno direction from CA).

Hoping to finish the stone wall/cemetery plot reconstruction today.
The "Rose lady" is all astir......seems the roses there and in the area of the plot are very old and very rare varieties, so much so that her "club" has adopted that area just to watch and care for these particular bushes. So, she's nervous about us working in and around them........I assured her we tread the ground like trepidatious fawns, light footed and always conscious..........Myself epitomizing said picture of delicate and purposeful motions.........

Wow. Thanks Elorrum. Making myself a reminder to get the passport renewed in the next few days. It expired in May, I think. I'll be needing it to get back to you all next year!

And there are days at Value Village when I spend my days going through the racks just muttering "yuck, yuck... ooooh that was mine!... yuck, yuck" on constant repeat.

Good midwestern but east coast timezone morning to you all!

I'm sure you westerners are all still snuggled warmly in bed :p

Screw the coffee machine, it's friday and that means starbucks pumpkin spiced latte cheat day!

A whole day full of plans and I have this unshakable feeling it's all going to go terribly wrong somehow.

A few hours here in the office, an afternoon of golf with a good friend staying overnight and then an evening of adult shenanigans certain to involve alcohol and the hot tub.

I just can't seem to get myself enthused about the day's plans and I dunno why.

And on an odd note.... Elliot popped up in a dream last night. The Elliot from the San Fran Trilo pics. Not naked Elliot from TTITD. Not that I mind naked Elliot. I think you were giving me directions. You know, dreams, fuzzy and barely remember it now.

I think it's the clear fall air we got going on here in Indiana, my brain antenna reception seems to be really fine tuned these days. PIcked up my phone to text a friend yesterday, a friend I haven't texted in around 3 weeks and seriously, blammo, up pops a text from him asking how I'm doing.... I about dropped my phone in shock.

Which is shocking since me dropping my phone is right up there with a momma dropping her baby. Life grip on the phone ya know?

Anyways we worked out a plan, maybe a date on the 18th and King's Island amusement park, maybe not. He's a bit flighty, I'll believe it when I pick him up enroute or he shows up the night before on my doorstep ready to go the next day.

Enought babbling, I think I'm stalling since I have no confidence in this day.

God I hate Election Season. I don't know how many commericals I've seen, all done naturally by Democrats, demonizing their opponent because they are backed by <cue foreboding music here> Wall Street interests! Fuck you. I happen to be a principal of the New York Stock Exchange, and I am honest and conscientious, pay my fair share of taxes, have never cheated anybody, and support the U.S. economy with my sweat and my labor. Unlike the useless Occupy Wall Street (or fill in the blank with anything else) parasites, I support our police and military and the liberties that this country affords us. To demonize Wall Street is just plain mean-spirited and wrong. I will vote against anyone using this deceitful tactic. They clearly have a different view on America than I certainly have.

Here in California, the last day to register to vote in the next election is October 20. Just 10 days. I always vote Absentee Ballot thru the mail. Remember kids; If you do not vote, your opinion does not matter.

Sipping sweet tea today, still in the 90's here. : sets the jug and glasses on the bar: Help yourselves.

Life is good. Darleen is back on the job after the bladder sling operation. I'm paying her daughter-in-law 100 bucks to clean up the back yard and get it ready for Winter before the rains come. A dry year but still a lot of weeds. My gout is still acting up a little if I overdo things. Just a healthy reminder to slow down.
