Shroom, from the kitchen comes the sound of the four-year-old pit crunching kibble. Sweet, sweet dog (unless you're a cat or some other form of chew toy), and the way he romps--I think it's good for the middle aged self, and middle aged housemate.

And there I was earlier today, thinking about grey muzzles and stiff legs and how much I will miss him when he goes. Dogs are so intense for humans. Not an easy bond to let go of in the end.

The suggestion from the signatories co-workers and "culture" to "manifest your love and talent" on a fucking sorry letter is something I've never seen. I wonder if it's a clue to the sort of cover letter they like. You can glean some tips for that approach in the old ticket request threads here.

Joeln, Keep at it. I can't tell you how many times the new hire was the wrong choice and we go looking again. Don't follow up too much. But do follow up on any job that you really want. 1 month 3 months 6 months. I have been known to hire 'The next person that applies' because I can't believe what the new hire turned into after just a couple of weeks. (Applicants lie and hide their vices. Can you believe it?) Don't give up. It's an endearing quality for someone to want to work for our company so bad. Keep records of your applications and date of contact. Good Fuckin luck!!

I'll agree with you, Ratty. In my line of work I see résumés and applications come in, and it's never a bad thing to be politely interested and follow up with an email. When someone is particularly interested in the job (if they are personable and respectful about it) I usually let my boss know. A high level of interest is definitely correlated with getting an interview.

What the fuck is going on??? Now 2 friends were murdered today, by some one they were helping out and letting him stay with them. He repaid by stabbing them. Chef Larry & his wife, Denise. Ran the best camp at High Sierra, Kamp Bitchin' Kitchen. Full of love & light, and showed it by feeding the masses fucking awesome meals. They lived for music, good times, and welcomed us all with open arms. Asked me about coming to the burn next year.

This is the worst of all the friends that died in the last few weeks. I can't stop crying, and I have a ton of work to get done before tomorrow's deadline. I spent damn near the whole of high Sierra at their camp because it was fucking nice. Sunday night, sitting with Denise & eating a bunch of crawfish listening to the California Honeydrops. He got the bands to come play in their camp. Larry had just lost 185 lbs. in the last year $ had a new lease on life.

He celebrated his sobriety up there every year; we gave him his 20'year chip. Next year a memorial?!! It's not right. I can't get my mind around this. Senseless, stupid. I met the fucker that did it.
