What Are You Gifting in 2015.... ?

What am I considering gifting in 2015?

I am considering loading up the trike and tow-behind trailer, heading out to the deep playa several times during the week at midnight (or after), and gifting either fresh made Banana Daiquiris or Margaritas.

Or, I might gift baked escargots served on buttered toast tips with Champagne.

Although I will be serving less than 250 people, I will check with the food control folks to see if I need to apply for a food permit.

You do. In camp and less than 125~150 is the standard. You could serve champagne or prepackaged treats with no permit.

I agree - very nice swag!
Those flame paint colors remind me of some of the cool colors I used to see in jewelry making.
We did investment casting and it was always a surprise to see what color the castings would come out when we washed off the plaster.

I will be doing the Home, as usual, and the Gift Box. The box did not do well this year, perhaps I need signage. I was sad when someone took the entire plastic container in the gift box which held all the little loose gifts such as pins and rings. Greedy or clueless?

I have a bag of leather keychain kits too, but may save those for the eplaya M&G.

If you serve even one person on the open playa with something like this, you need a food permit. If you serve it only to members of your camp, you just need a food permit if you have more than 125 people. You cannot, however, serve anything "fresh made" to the general public at all without a permit.

In the regard of serving food, I bring prepackage pastries and other treats that I pick up in Reno. Anything sealed can be given away with no issues.

As far as gifts, several years back I made some tiny pieces of art from the playa, as well as images of the Man, and gifted out dozens of these treasures. AntiM passed out many at her Home for Wayward Art. I will be doing an updated version for 2015, and I will be a human gift shop.

For the past couple years my campmates and I have gifted postcards and "merit badges" (stick-on patches), so I expect we'll be doing that again next year.

I think we can arrange for that. We were so busy with the Tesla Coil at Decom that we never got around to polishing, flame painting and gifting them.

I want to have a little booth at the next East Bay Burners (or NIMBY, etc.) meetup.

I had intended to make glass tile necklaces for 2014, but time got away from me. So, I think I will focus on that this year. I already have lots of cord, I just need to find the right images.

I still have a bunch of copper, and am thinking of something similar to this year's pendant.
Different design, though, and definitely a better cord. (one that stays tied, and is not pink.)
If I can get it together without waiting too long, there will be enough for everyone on my list, and then some!

A spiral like ramp on the outside leading to the center so one person could be at the pinnacle of knowledge. Above them would be a single book bolted, open, with one phrase telling the ultimate truth (of the day). Does that count?
