I remember being at Yggy's birthday party in 2010 when the Giants clinched against Philadelphia. Marty and I were, comparatively speaking, glued to the TV while Yggy and Clyde were blissfully unaware of what was going on around them in The Compound. Maybe we ought to reinact that for the World Series?

Go Giants!

Very definitely for that, Doc. And Elliot, the Giants are one of the oldest baseball franchises in the country and seem to lately have the even number year as their year to shine. 2010, 2012 and now 2014! Go Giants of whatever variety or specie

Morning, YG. Sure looks like a diet buster brekie! YUM, to hell with the calories. Just more there to love and hug. Beautiful sunny day here this morning despite forecast for rain. Some may remember Simona, "The Hot Italian Doctor", Tomorrow we are going to her baby shower. We've stayed in touch. Such an interesting woman with both an MD and PhD behind her name. And a load of fun to boot. We camped together at BRC a few years ago and have remained friends ever since. Her parents and sister visited from Rome earlier in the year and they were absolutely charming people. Maybe go and make a few pots today. Taking a break from tennis for a week or two.

YGMIR's birthday is coming up very soon

Cheers

:D
*struts into the Bar, whistling a bouncy tune*
Good morning!
It is only Saturday, but I feel like giving tomorrow's sermon already.
And this is a cheery sermon!

In 1990 I bought a safe, the kind for keeping rifles and gold-ingots secure. Recently I concluded that I don't need that safe, and I could make better use of the floor-space.
And yesterday I was scrolling thru a local buy-&-sell web-site, and there was an ad wanting to buy a safe.

So I started thinking of a nice crisp 100 Dollar bill. Maybe two of them, and let him bargain me down to 150. But then I remembered a lesson taught me by two different friends in recent times. So I asked the fellow to make me an offer. And he gave me $300 for the safe.

Lesson learned: When somebody asks "How much do you want for it?", my answer is "How much would you like to pay?"

*shouts* I'm rich! I'm rich!

*runs out of the Bar, arms and legs flailing wildly, tongue flapping in the wind like a dog in a truck, looking for something to blow $300 on*

Ah. Thank you. Yes. Indeed. Belts and hoses for Millicent The Bus. And water-pump and a couple other things while I'm under the hood already. Preventive maintenance.

And I already, yesterday evening, bought something else Millicent needs -- RV anti-freeze for the water and waste tanks (for winter storage). Millicent was indeed on my mind right away. At the moment "she" is in Southern California, at the Kinetic Sculpture Race in Ventura, which I'm skipping this year, except that one of my "racing" vehicles is there.

In 2007 I had to change Millicent's starter at the corner of 4:30 and Coral Reef in BRC. After trekking to Reno to buy the starter.

Preventive maintenance coming right up. :D

Nice fire, yg. I miss the SCC, that's a good location too. lots of coffee here today. I put the antenna out on the patio to see if I had a set up that would allow for the world series on Tuesday. There's a cord going from my window, all across the apartment to the computer monitor on my desk, which will double as a t.v. this year. I forgot this monitor had a t.v. tuner, and it's digital, so I don't need the analog converter box for it. The big t.v. went to goodwill a couple weeks ago.

*wanders in, starts ECM, opens trap door and heads down to basement...........going through secret tunnel to barn, heads into perfectly arranged stall, changes straw, adds fresh water and carrots on china plate. *

sigh *moment of silence and hope*
*replaces candle nub in window, lights new candle for "Da Mule"*

I know, and hope, one day, Da Mule will come back..........

*heads back to bar, via subterranean passage, (notes faint sound of OMWs, wonders if it's my imagination), re-enters bar, strokes TV and heads for IBBOD*

Lucky, give Sadie a hug for me. (If she consents.) I totally adore her, she was very kind on playa in 2013. Next time she goes, remind her to bring some beef jerky.
