Too bad I can't lend you our weather today. Sunny and 70s. We may have snow this weekend though.

Do you have enough ear tags for the catch and release hippies?

awe jeeze.........we don't ear tag. we cut an ear off, and see if it matches if they get caught again. easier to spot at a distance if their dreads are pulled back.

Hello Folks,
Hmmm...hippies in the rain. That's gonna smell bad...
Cub Scouts on a "no showers available" camping trip won't smell much better...
The van is loaded and I am headed out shortly. My grandson made sure I understood that it is a "no electronics" weekend..
Not a problem!!.. I think he was trying to convince himself that he would survive without video games for 2.5 days.

Fingers crossed I don't say fuck in front of the pack.

Sadie:

One more for the list: Boy howdy.

The kids ARE impressionable. I was Scoutmaster for a small troop here that had about 25 boys at its zenith. One small concession we made to the 'no electronics' stance was the movies and popcorn campout that we held yearly. We stayed away from the sci-fi and fantasy stuff the kids seemed to prefer for more cerebral fare. Like 'Treasure of the Sierra Madre'. It has one scene where Humphrey Bogart is being confronted by banditos who are trying to get a look at his gold mine map.

"You can show us your map, senor....we are federales" says the lead bandito.

Humphrey Bogart: "If you're federales, where are your badges?", followed by the classic

"Badges? Badges, senor? We don' need no steenkin' badges....." as gunplay results...

Months later, we're at a court of honor, and we've just had rank advancement awards to the scouts, and the assistant scoutmaster rises to the podium.......

"Now that we've advanced the boys to new ranks, as evidence of their skills, we'd like to award merit badges for all the hard work they've done..'

From the back of the room, we hear a squeaky-voiced young scout reply,

"Badges, badges, we don't need no stinking badges......"

And the assembled parents and onlookers couldn't help but erupt in laughter.

Timing is everything, Sadie...have fun.

Sadie with the scouts, and ygmir with the hippies. I hope no scouts get their ears "notched," or hippies either.
Hiya Lucky! I'm watching the game and working on the boxes.
Almost fell into a camcorder, let's see if it still works, trap. The tapes are long gone.
I'm thinking of having some coffee, and working late.

Notched ears means they've been sterilized. That's okay in the case of hippies.

HI EVERYBODY!! (Bounds over to the nearest stool) It's Friday night and where is everyone? Shit yes I've been virtual bar hopping. Can I have 2 beers. I ate salty food all day. Sure would love a little tomato juice in that.

Good Morning Bar! Happiest of Days, Aserendipity! Have a nice night out. Raining here. It sounds like good indoor task weather.

Arbitron ratings sent me en envelope with one dollar bill in it giving me advance notice that they were going to survey me. Then they called, I told them I don't watch t.v. and only listen to a couple of radio stations. Then they sent me en envelope with 2 one dollar bills in it. easy money.

I got some new glasses last week, progressive lenses. I hated them the first day, didn't like the sensation of things being out of focus if I wasn't looking through them right. I'm starting to get adjusted to them now.

Happy Birthday ASD! There is a show of Rock Music Posters in Golden Gate Park today from 10 AM - 6:00 PM that you may enjoy. It is in the Hall of Flowers.

Good ball game last night even though the Giants lost 3 - 2. We'll see what happens tonight.

Elorrum, I have worn progressive lenses for many years and you do get accustomed to them. Morning Ratty, Tatonka, Anti M, Lucky and any lurkers in the building.

Have a fine weekend, kiddies

That caught my eye, Cryptofishy...the knife depicted in your post is a reproduction, made in stainless, of the real item, which is iron and silver, and can be seen at :
http://www.fitzwilliamprints.com/image/ ... -implement

I'd guess that the guards at the Vatican carry the Swiss Army knife....but that's just a guess since they're Swiss Guards.....lol

Yup, I thought of the Swiss Guards as well. I wonder if my nephew saw that at the Fitzwilly. Probably not, thinking of the date. He must have graduated by then.

Not a Swiss Guard, but I never leave home without my Swiss Army knife. Hell of an instrument, Fishy

Yeah, BVB, I saw that kayak in McCovey cove with the flame barrel and a dog on board. Hell of a trick! But the main news is that the Giants won. Sorry Rhino but the Series is now even at 2 games each with one to go in SF and the final in KC. Doc and are are cautiously optimistic. Go Giants!!!! 8) 8) 8)

You know, the whole pliers thing has me firmly converted to the leatherman.

And then I just have problems with the swiss, but that's secondary.

Good morning bar!!!

Great to be back on a normal track. I have been a little busy to be even lurking, let alone post.

Caught pneumonia twice since coming back from the burn. And my bronchitis won't give up the ghost.

Been winterizing the ranch. Judging by the woolly bears its gonna be a cold and deep snow this season.
Brushing all the animals of their summer coats to make for a better winter coat. And rerouting the water lines
so they don't freeze. Got all the trailers lined up where they belong and cleaned off/out, and ready to use in a
moments notice. All the parts are lined up and ready for the spring maintenance (bearings, brakes, lighting/wiring,shocks) I tore up
a couple of them this year pretty bad. We did some rough hauls this time. Need to weld a couple things on one of them, too.

Buttoning up some loose ends around dads affairs and finally got the roof fixed.
Busy, busy, busy!!!

We have been camping more, now that we don't have to baby sit. Been kinda nice to just take off for a weekend
and have no worries.

Happy belated birthday to all I have missed over the last couple months!!!
HunnyBunny's is next week, and I didn't forget this time

Some one pass the coffee/alcohol!!
....the password is pineapple.........

Just throw it on the fire! It will kill it or cure it!!
