Chinese interest in Burning Man?

According to the users legend at the bottom, Baidu spiders ePlaya. Wonder if they provide stats, ad opportunities and who uses.

We actually allow a number of different search engines to index the boards, and have done so for years. I should imagine that ad buyers could potentially keyword eplaya specific terms (just as they can when buying any other kind of keyword searches), though I don't see it as being lucrative.

We do get some spambot activity coming from Chinese IP addresses, but it's generally less than we see from other countries that don't have their own language-specific search engines.

On a side note, here's an ePlaya pro tip:
Search for any Burning Man related keyword on your favorite search engine and add the word ePlaya to it... bam, instant Burning Man-centric results. For example, searching YURT or REBAR on their own will get you a zillion pages of results that may not necessarily help you with playa preparations. Use those same words with EPLAYA and you'll get results specific to Burning Man.

I wonder what the Chinese for-profit camps will call their "Sherpas"?

Considering that they own the back side of Everest? Sherpas might well do.

Once the Chinese People's Army Inc. buys and owns the rights to the Burn, and the Black Rock Communist Party starts getting the respect, special placement, guaranteed tickets taken out of the unsuspecting hands of the rubes lined up in STEP, and early entry.......then we can all relax and accept that it is not our party to run, but the owners. Until then, the struggle continues.

At least when the Chinese start using real Sherpas on playa, calling them that won't be racist.

To make this trick work even better, use this format -

site:eplaya.burningman.org AND "search word/s"

Using the "site:" format will only pull up eplaya responses, but you have to do the whole URL like I've shown above, not just "eplaya"

I don't think the Chinese Politburo is a good model for the future of the event ... the Bmorg seems to already be operating within the accepted norms of that group.
