I cackled with delight when I read this notion, and then I jumped to the next logical progression: if this happens in 2015, then Da Weasel will start charging theme camps a "registration" fee in 2016 to make sure they actually show-up and provide enough atmosphere and gifts for the Borg to commodify. (Sorta like a vehicle pass, but its not transferrable, refundable, and would be paid at the time of application. You know, to cover "costs of placement". LOL!)

So it was a great thought, Finny, but with a bad ultimate result. As soon as the BMorg figures it out, it'll cost us, the Burners. Again.

These conversations, here and at other forums, may well be solving the problem of ticket scarcity. After trying to find my way there for years, I bought my first ticket in 2011, well before they sold out. Won in the lottery in 2012 and came again. BRC is a three day drive for us, so there are very few local tickets for sale. We couldn't find a ticket in 2014 even after trying every avenue. ( because I believed the bullshit about not paying over face value) Our plan has been to try again next year, but now I wonder why. To me, the non commodification is the best thing about ttitd. And who wants to give when there are so many takers? I am surly not the only board lurking burner reading these threads who is considering giving it up. (While wishing things were different)

You might be right. Except that you won't be able to take a tax deduction for the amount over retail you pay when using from a scalper. (I mean, how is buying a ticket from a scalper helping build the BMORG's vision?)

Actually Simon, I was being sarcastic. I don't think trading blocks of tickets for 'donations' to some 'charity' so that then those tickets can be used in support of PnP camps is right at all.
