2014 Court date outcomes from law enforement tix at 2014

Post by whi ghi » Wed Nov 19, 2014 11:33 am

There has already been 1 session of the group court dates for people who were ticketed by law enforcement at the 2014 brm. Does anyone know how lenient the judge has been in reducing the charges on the ticket to the reason they were pulled over, i.e. obstruction of license plate. I go on Dec 18th and r scared to death. Did people feel that the lawyers for burners were helpful and adequate in resolving the issue? Did people who hired an external lawyer to represent them have better outcomes? Did anyone receive a greater penalty than they were originally cited for? Thanks.

Don't leave us hanging. How many people show up at once? Do they pass a hand over the crowd and absolve everyone at once?

I took a little trip out to Wadsworth early last month to pay a traffic ticket for an International burner.

It was about $130. The lady in the lil court house was a 16 year burner. She had a couple stacks of tickets on her desk. She was really nice and thanked my friend for paying...
Oh my god, it's HUGE!

An international burner with a ticket? I would have blown it off-I don't think Interpol will extradite. Sure, there might be a failure to appear warrant issued, but don't get in a situation where they would check them for wants and warrants.

I think it was quite honorable of her to pay it. We needs the monies out here...

Plus she didn't want any snafus when she returns.

To the OP. Any serious issue is foolish to depend on ePlaya, we are all undependable and anonymous. Contact Lawyers for Burners and review the public records for the previous cases.

The judicial system WILL get you in the end. It is patient, with an infinite memory.

If you got popped, dont try and game the system. Pay the fine and dont get stupid in the future. Rules are rules, odds are you are not a lawyer, and you can chalk this up as a learning experience. Or you can pretend you are 10'feet high and bulletproof. Your choice.

FWIW, lawyers absolutely LOVE the "I can beat the system" types. They pay our light bills. Cash and carry. They pay big bucks to stay out of jail when their bad religion leaves them stranded under the harsh light of courtroom reality.

Deb Prothero had a different issue, but they got her at a border crossing, and sent her back into Canada. On airplanes, you have to figure that the manifest with passenger names and other information is given to customs hours before the plane lands and they have time to do searches. Even if this isn't where the technology is right now (and with the never ending focus on hijackers, etc., I'm sure it is) it's where it will be in 5 or ten years.

I hope that jaywalking ticket from the 80s doesn't come back...

My husband has lived in california for well over 40 years. As a young man he was thrown in a drunk tank and deemed incompetent by a wise judge in florida. Just a few years ago we learned that there is a nationwide computer data bank being established. As all those old tickets and charges get entered you will be notified. His notice said he needed to prove competency to maintain his drivers license. $800 sent to a Florida lawyer proved it. There is no escape.

Deb had a clear cut path to fix it, and chose not to, forgot, or ignored it. I did come back to bite her.

Yes, the circumstances were dreadful.

But my point was about the lack of cracks to fall through.

I'm intrigued about what the circumstances there were but I understand it's not necessarily your story to tell.

It reminded me of this though, that story defintely suggests they do their research on who's on a flight before it lands.

I was just going, "Wow, the Times actually said something reasonable" when I noticed who the writer is. Solomon is a seriously thoughtful guy.
And Deb did recount at least some of her story here, you can look it up.

From the afore mentioned article: "Pillorying depression is regressive, a swoop back into a period when any sign of mental illness was the basis for social exclusion."

And this is actually surprising to anyone watching what is going on in the U.S. relating to politics, education, imigration, religion, et. al.?

Crypto, it's easier than that. Say you need a visa to go abroad. BEFORE YOU EVEN GET ON THE PLANE, you have to scan your visa into the scanner at the gate ticket collector. BEFORE boarding can begin. They scanned my passport's visa at O'Hare an hour before boarding, and then again as I headed towards the plane. I'm glad I was cleared prior to leaving the US, because when I got to Beijing, they had PLA soldiers at the airport carrying AK-47s (or, actually AKMs, the Chinese version)

I had no problem entering the People's Republic of China, and none leaving a week later.

Great, because I have no desire to spend any time in a PRC penal camp.
