Re: Absolutely unbelievable
So... (-looking at watch-) it would appear our dear friends at Burningman HQ have let yet another day pass without an accounting for their actions.
I'd be inclined to grab the torch and pitchfork, but frankly I'd rather dream of weedblowers and tar and feathers and playa mayhem...
Spin it, Larry. Spin it GOOD...

Well they themselves didn't actually say anything about having an answer by today. Not officially. And considering how many times they *have* said they'd release info on a certain day only for that day to come and go without word I'm no surprised nothing happened today.

^ Not surprised, but extremely disappointed.
It should not take this long to form a reasonable ( or at least palatable ) response.
I'm starting to feel like a fool for having defended them. Thank goodness I never bought into the 10 principle thing or I'd be foaming at the mouth. If it weren't for my playa family I'd be done with it all.

I have this vision of us as peasant villagers carrying torches and pitchforks, milling around outside of the masters castle. Our problem? The sign says "closed".

I don't know where that 12/2 date came from to begin with. They will speak when they are ready. Same with tickets. And that, if you recall, took a few years of experimenting (and the same bitching and complaining) to get to where it is today. (and who knows what changes/surprises there will be with ticketing this year, if any)

Smoke, mirrors, lies, and half truths. Almost like BMorg and burners.me are having a contest.
But perhaps people will stop quoting things they read off burners.me as if it were truth. I don't think BMorg ever said an announcement would be made then.

Re: Absolutely unbelievable
The first mention I saw of the Dec 2 date was from Simon, right here on ePlaya.
He didnt name a source, but he has been right on in past matters.
At any rate, the BMORG continues its silence, and thats likely not a smart PR move. Whatever, and whenever, I guess we shall wait and see.

Re: Absolutely unbelievable
Another thing to hate about all this is the prominence it's given burners.meh. Although, maybe it's been there a while, and there are more references to them now. I find them quite irritating and shallow. Perhaps, if I hadn't given up after the first couple of things I read there, the opinion might be more nuanced, but I don't find I miss that level of discourse in my life.tamarakay wrote:Smoke, mirrors, lies, and half truths. You should be warned though that nearly every sentence includes the phrase "in this author's opinion" which makes it VERY painful to read.
Also I think the Burners.me response to this is well worth a read. Take it with a grain of salt but I think it's worth considering his perspective.

I said "worth considering" that's hardly a resounding endorsement.

Simon you forgot to post the cached version here, where it had actually been mentioned, where it would actually be in context.Jovankat wrote:digital wrote:Very interesting opinion given at: http://b**n.strikingly.com/
