okay -
chills. yeah.

dammit Sensei. fuck.

now i'm in for sure.

and i'm a little more in love with you. dammit!

and:
#1 - i do NOT belong on top of the totem pole. i'm relatively new around here meself. but i *adore* the idea of the avatar-totem pole! (let's put Rob on top since is NOT GONNA FUCKING BE THERE - whatever...)

#2 - so far we have, what... 12 interested people? that does not a large camp make, and i don't really see the point of esplanade presence... we don't have much interactivity to offer (other than a bar and maybe some music [which isn't, y'know really original out there], and is our point to fund a bunch of yahoos gettin' their drunk on? not me, thanks.). i appreciate that we represent this very intriguing spin-off of BM as eplayans, but i think a side-street would do... don't really wanna be off in boom-boom land... is the point of this to hang out together and make all this "real", or are we out to get a bunch of attention....?? i know which option i'm after...

(hahaha...almost wrote "boob-boob land"....heeheeheehee!!!!)

ok, keep talking about this and you might just hook me.
Sam, put me on your list. and don't give me that 'pm me' crap; you know how to call me, raid my house, or email me. (jeez, that's scary!)

i'd be willing to help out, if i'm around. i might just send some crappy art one way or another.

dude, ditch the esplanade idea: too much traffic, too much annoyance, too mnay people, too much trouble. booney-land doesn't sound good either - it would be good to be registered and maybe on a spoke street - but the esp. sounds like a pain in the patootie. especially for a relatively small camp where the participants have never built anything physical together and can't meet over non-virtual beers to plan.

the great thing is, this camp could be one of the better planned ones since we're in constant contact with each other.

here's an uncomfortable question: do you want to just leave it open to whoever, or set a cut off date for people to 'join' or what? i'm just thinking about planning and numbers and dynamics and the increased thread traffic in the summer....

We need to have a running list of who and how many.

I can add me plus between 1 and, as many as 5.

We have to find out if Rob likes it on top. It appears that you don't...

This also works, and we do have time to set this up (nine months... perfect gestation period) so... lets discuss it. But, if we can get the Esplanade, we should do it. And as far as 'having something special', we do. We have this community. THAT is the draw here... It is not the BAR... a bar is simply wood, metal, fabric... the real life is the people in it... which is usn's. It is the conversation, it is the community. Actually, a soft juke box going in the background would serve most of us...

Something I've learned in Brainstorming (which I've done a shitload of) is to throw EVERYTHING on the table first, without editing out anything, and then find out what is practical. We are less than twenty-four hours out of the chute on this thing. Let's pile the whole shebang up there first... then start shooting holes in it....

Besides.... I think a twelve foot lighted picture of you over the entrance will pretty much fill the place every night...

i think i agree on the esplanade issue...i might be able to wrangle some frontage, but there would be serious restrictions on noise levels and drunkards going amok...it might not be worth the effort.

i can, however, guarantee you frontage advertising space...post your addy on the front of DOTA's pillow pit - the flailing zone - and you will have plenty-o-action. no problemo!

Darlin', you've been on my list since the first moment I wanted to give you a full body massage with my tongue... But, yeah... you are.

Do you think we could build the bar in your place first to test it out? There appears to be plenty of room there....

So, an idea I had for an art project was to make an avatar totem pole, with Tisha on top, of course, and little ole me way down on the bottom.....I'd need input with the rest of hte pecking order, though. (or do you think this would be too incendiary? )
I'm already plotting the necklace I'm making for Rian. I don't know if I can do everyone. And still have something remotely resembling a life, I mean.

Everything, hum.
Then I WILL make my Gifting Tree leave a gift take a gift thing--now we're going to have to find a way to take it up from the bay area.
Is there going to be a place for me to have a couple of craft projects going?
We're calling the chill dome "Persistence of Mammary" for the shape and the Big Glowing light that were putting on top.
Costume exchange/share for camp members?
Will there be a bay area arm of plotters to do threedee work on this place?

More to come later.

okay, Sam. i hear ya. put it all out there first. yer right.

as for being on top.... we'll have to discuss it later - in the back room of the bar, perhaps...

i was thinking of some kind of interactive art that would simulate the boards for visitors... "topics" posted and some way to add comments underneath... could be as simple as butcher paper and markers.

but yer right. the main draw is us and our connection and community.

Okay:
  • 1) Good.. It will be welcome

    2) I want us to have a 50'X50' space. Should be room for crafts... although crafts in a bar sounds strange... but, throw everything into the mix first, edit later.

    3) "Persistence of Mammary" sounds.... ummm... TITS! And it will also tie in to the unexpress theme of Burning Man that has gone on every year; "Sex, Sex, Sex, Until Your Genital Implode!"

4)Costume Exchange is good. If we have a fifty by fifty, we can put up a costume pipe (Coat rack used in theatre) and have people change things out.

5)Three Dee is a ambitious, but it goes on the table, too. Nothing denied. If DVD and his band of merry ADHDer's can come up with something, we'll throw that in the mix.
Ideas first!!! Editing later!!

Probably a cut-off date or size. I don't want it to be de facto limited to the "high count posters" or "gang of five" or "the usual suspects" or something like that. Obviously, it's gonna have to be people who can work with Sam and tonytohono. I'm not gonna say that it should even be limited to people on e-playa. How much outreach to the campless do we want to do? I want some openness. Remember that many of u s (self included) will be camping elsewhere, no matter if we do spend a lot of time there.

go for 100x100 or at least 50x100 deep. Also, if you go for esp. I am not sure they give smaller than 100' of frontage.

relevant issues have been brought up regarding being on the esplanade. Still, just doing a bar, even if it is the eplaya bar will not cut it. Yeah, you think we bring a great community to the table and that's our gift and all but so thinks every shmoe with booze and dome as well. I will say this, however, I did my camp with 5 people total and essentially only 2 of us doing a bulk of the planning. Oh, and we got 100'x100'. It sounds to me like this camp wants to be in the first block of a spoke or preferably on the first ring block back.

as far as a list of folks go, follow the golden rule and only camp with true believers. So, at some point, and I would recommend fairly early on, you got to shut the list up tight. There is gonna be drama in this camp, oh yes there is, so you might as well mitigate it in any way you can.

it is also important to decide early on whether you want sound or not. This decision will determine a great number of other things.

Drama...? Here...?! Okay... we put Joel over here... DVD over here... Cowboy Angel will have to be tethered like a baloon over in this corner... and the Four Women and A Fish will be behind the burn barrel... That should take care of it.

Stuart.. you are right... and I think we should agree that the second circle (which Dante' reserved for those who were treacherous in hospitality, so pay attention!) would be better. But for right now, lets leave both on the table. someone might be able to come up with a theme (like Jiffly Lube?) that will appeal to the PtB.

Then again.....
