I commit a lot of faux pas here on ePlaya, that Sir Trilo has to rescue me from, but my dog-eared old rolodex is seldom wrong. :D

Now... strangely... being 63 feels no different from being 62 up to yesterday. Of course, I'm one year further behind on a lot of things.
But none of that will matter in another 30 or so years, so all is well.

And thanks to you all for the birthday well-wishes! :!:

Why on Earth did somebody bother to copy Ben Hur as a cartoon, when the original film is so spectacular? When I still had a working VCR, I kept a tape with the race scene always cued up.

*sigh*

What a wonderful few days these have been.
Elorrum and I saw The Hobbit in 3D, went up to Flagstaff to see TinkerMom, rode the trike on a nice tour of the hills past Jerome, made a delicious Christmas dinner, puttered in the garage through 'departments' of all the things and made a proper antenna for the radio out there, and, this morning, I had my very own little concert when she played her little guitar....... (if I can figure out how to reduce the size of the pics I took, I'll post one... silly camera, dang it)
She's now on her way to the Grand Canyon, with an amazing IMax movie of the canyon planned for this afternoon, and on to more adventuring en route to her new Reno home base.

I feel honoured and privileged to have been able to have her here in my home for almost a week!

I find the quickest re-size option is to highlight them all, then right click and choose "send to".......then "mail recipient". it will than ask if you want to re-size them for sending, and you can choose the size. once it creates the email, and they are resized and attached, you can click and drag one at a time to a new folder on your desktop , and you'll have them all smaller and ready.

yay for photos!!

Do you have Microsoft Office Picture Manager? That is my favorite resizing (and cropping) tool. Very easy to use.

Dear Bar,

I really think where I live, with water in sight and endless perfect temperature, is a gift
for having done something good.
But, if all my favorite people keep locating Reno-ish, maybe I'll have to re consider it .

.

Okay, the first try with this too large picture tells me the max allowed is 2MB, so reduced it to 1.57MB.
Then all of a sudden, the max is 256KiB, and my pic is too large.
Reduced to 230KB.

Am I wrong to think "KiB" = KB =Kilobytes?
If not wrong, then it seems to me that 230KB is less than 256KiB.
Still tells me the file is too large, and the max allowed is 256KiB.

All the while, the silly computer kept 'not responding' and/or freezing.
(Then I had lunch and did a puzzle or two out of frustration...)

Just now, tried again to use the 230KB version right here, and still - too large (for max 256KiB.)

Harrrrummph.

ETA: Thanks, Yggy, Elderberry and Elliot, for the helpful hints!

I don't pay any attention to the bytes, kilo or otherwise. I go by the pixels. A good size is 500 pixels. Can you see the pixel count in the program you are using? It will be both height and width, such as 500 x 400. A photo out of a camera is likely to be more like a few thousands of pixels each way.

Edit to add:
My avatar is 150 x 150. The picture of the Emperor in my sig is 51 x 49.

Morning ygmir and thanks for the breakfast.

Heading out to the Verizon store. Ugh, but maybe going this early I beat the crowds. Getting a new phone and this time I'll get the protective case. Breaking 2 phones in a 2 week period is a bit excessive and expensive.

That's a fabulous idea! Trouble is, I am so vehemently opposed to smoking. I realize a good cigar is very different from cigarettes, but still.... Maybe I can put a top-hat on him.... Ah! A crown, of course! But I'm just barely beginning to learn this "layers" wizardry in Photoshop. I'm not even sure how I finally managed to put the eyes on there.

Morning, yggy....thanks for breakfast thoughts. (I had my scrambled egg+potato 'scrabble' with bacon and coffee to start the day....that's a good thing that you folks are doing to me....I'm eating a GOOD breakfast to start the day). I worked yesterday (unlike many Federal employees.....but, heh, heh, us Missouri state employees get Truman's birthday off, whereas the Feds don't....). Xmas was interesting and good. Tonight, tho, I go see Joe Willett and his Jazz Ensemble at the Heidelberg Café.
