Video games are giving kids unrealistic expectations on how many swords they can carry.

That's why we need to serve only alcohol, clearly. Permits? We don't need no stinkin' permits.

Elliot gussied up the new place with all new furniture that was too fancy for Simon, so it was time to close the old place down.

And Yggy played music from good friends from the good old days in Topanga
And Simon put himself in place
And Tinker is letting us eat applepie
And MDF is doing good deeds as always
And Savannah is grinning ...
And Lucky is plucky lucky
And Fossa is thinking meet meat
and I will leave my black wrist band from the Armory in place until it falls off or I do

Ok new bar, I can work with this Elliot. Not sure how we'll get up to the hot tub though. As soon as I get my real computer set up I'll try something out. Two months of pokey little devices has worn thin. New home base commencing now. This road warrior has worn out her trusty car and will be putting it out to pasture soon. The next one will be perfect-er.

MORNIN ALL!!
Oatmeal and coffee this morning
A little chilly this morning,18, but beats the 6 above earlier this week. Most of the snow has melted, just hangin around shady areas
Had a class at work to operate the tow plow. Damn truck is way under powered
Hope everybody has a good Saturday
I stop at the bank for a withdraw to have cash when I make purchases: Bag of sunflower seeds and a can of soda or ice tea, groceries, gas, eating out etc.
Hell, two years ago signed up for direct deposit when I changed from B of A to a credit union....shortly after, my employer "mandated" that we have direct deposit basically dictating how we manage our money.

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition
yo, catman!
So you're learning to drive with a tow plow? Good for you! They were originally developed here in Missouri by one of our maintenance folks. Remember to get one with sufficient blade height for the snow you plow. They don't work as well with V-plows. You V-plow and THEN you tow plow, and it's done quick that way. You must work for Nevada DOT, and I work for Missouri DOT.

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition
I know it was somebody from MoDOT that designed it. Does the person still work for MoDOT? We have a 5yd sander on ours with I'm guessing 100 gallons of brine.
We have two, one based in Reno assigned to the crew I work on and I'm guessing the other is in Elko or Wendover.
I can't belive desperado motorists still try to pass that on the right

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition
I've watched MoDOT videos at home on my time with tow plows in operation. What I like is the location of your hydraulic fittings in the right corner.
Ours are tucked under the truck bed....a real bitch to connect and disconnect. Can't use the truck for paving in the summer. It was trial and error for our equipment shop when they ran the lines so hopefully they'll take our suggestions and route the lines on future trucks differently. We're supposed to be getting three more for Reno but the truck and trailer are matched so we'll have the hp and maybe the lines will already be ran to a more accessible location

Good Morning Dear Bar !
Didn't see those plows in Kalispell
but then again I was too busy trying to drive the big stuff to see anything
Yay Elorrum !
the scary thing about tx coming up is that folks who usually do not discuss brc with me are starting to ask
maybe the impact is truly into the normals now
just like the project hoped

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition
catman, we have five or six of the tow plows in St. Louis alone, another three or four in Kansas City, and several in St. Joseph, Columbia, Hannibal, and Springfield. We also have several 'salty dogs', basically a semi-water trailer combo that can pretreat an entire 4-lane bridge in a single pass. We also use them to wash the salt OFF the bridges at the end of the season to prevent salt degradation of the concrete pavement.
The guy who designed the tow plow is retired from MoDOT, and heads up the the company that sells the tow plow, which has only been around since 2005. Simply put, it was originally developed when the numbers didn't add up to the number of lane miles plowed and the number of snowplows we had. There was a national study of the idea for which the final report has been submitted (http://aii.transportation.org/Pages/TowPlow.aspx)
Those pages also have an example of our operator training manual and other pertinent materials. Nevada DOT was one of the states on the Lead States Team for the study.
The location of the hydraulic fittings on the trucks was another issue at the time, but we brought all of our maintenance folks together to design our next generation plow truck, and that was one of the issues that everyone agreed upon and we got moved.
We also use beet juice as a deicing chemical. Cheaper than salt, and totally environmentally friendly. In fact, after we spread it the only down side is we have to mow the shoulder more often. Crews think it smells terrible, and it does. The beet juice is the wastewater from sugar beet processing.
