Funny the things you buy after Christmas on the clearance isle. I bought bacon flavored chapstick. Yeeeew.

Seems like I buy stuff every day for the burn. I picked up a really big ugly clown suit and an led headlight to gift.

since we don't have the tickets in our grubby little hands as of now, we are simply reading, researching, asking an occasional question, planning, deciding, etc., etc. ... i figure that we will start purchasing a few items when we get the tickets... it also helps to keep me in check so i don't go over board with stuff like i usually do... like scaling down the wants for the needs...

trying to keep it simple, yet comfortable so we don't have to build another shed to store even more stuff !! reuse some of our reenacting gear where applicable, figuring out ways to reuse certain things that we have to buy, blah, blah, blah.... i figure that if we want to go again, then we can upscale a few things... until then, trying to follow the k.i.s.s. principle...

Might as well start building that shed now.

I outgrew the shed and now I'm storing bins in the old chicken coop too. Plus of course 2 rooms full of costumes upstairs.

Oh goody, a new thread. I just saw it today.

I ordered 7 strands of battery operated LEDs. I might order a few more after I receive these and figure out their use. I am thinking a few pink strands for my bike, and at least one red for my warm coat. Maybe spiff up the hat with a strand... EL wire is much more expensive. LEDs are $2-4 a strand!

I bought a big ole fur coat on Ebay, but now I am having second thoughts about taking it to the playa. I already have a dusty trusty grey coat that has been out there 6 times. I just couldn't resist buying this other one. Hee hee. I have time to ponder the fur coat....

I need a shed for my Burning Stuff. My garage is getting overwhelmed, and the way my driveway is, and where I live, I need to get my car in there no matter what. The car cannot be pushed out by Burning Stuff. I had a bad experience with a metal storage shed, I guess I will start researching wood pre-builts.

For about $300 you can do an 8' cube out of plywood with minimal cuts.

Pallets make a good foundation sheeted with plywood.

Make your own door!

You've probably already missed the postXmas sales on bins, but if you start now, you can probably (depending on location) have a full compliment of salvaged 5-gallon soy sauce buckets by the time the burns rolls around.

There is an 8X8 shed at Lowes for $600.. It is double walled snap together plastic.
Looks like a little house.. Has it's own floor and gabled roof.. Could even make a playa shelter..

I bought a bolt of stretchy jersey fabric, (think t-shirt), at East Bay Depot for Reuse in berkeley. Get this! It's 20 feet long and 12 feet wide. Dressing up my shade structure just got a whole lot easier.

Wow! I would love to have that, in white! I would take it my local DIY tie dye place and make it hippie dippy. But that is just me.

As for my item today - nuttin. I woke up feeling horrible after a fitful night of trying to sleep. Fluish? Slept most of the day and then went out to get some soup and salad. Now I feel better, and I hope the betters continue. I don't need no stinking flu!

Oakland these days. Berkeley is for the wealthy and the oddball is moving south...

If it were Black I would really hate it. It's pink. I hate the color. I love the fabric and the size. I've designed it in my mind. carport, tarp on top, fabric over the whole thing, front and back open, inside is a gypsy ceiling of sheers that peak in the middle. The sheers wrap tightly around the poles. I let them flow free one year and it was annoying. I still have two tents to playa proof before I can even start on this one.

This wouldn't be for playa use - just in my backyard to store all the dusty things. My garage can't take anymore!

silas thatcher, don't say the 'C' word around me. My neighbor feeds a feral cat colony. I have more than my share of cats. Once you have more than 4 or 5 it's just a smelly destructive mess. I wish the raccoons would eat em.

Sorry, I shouldn't have posted that in public. I love cats. Just not 15 or 20 shitting, pissing, spraying, fighting and shedding in my yard. I lost all of my cushions outside to destruction. The flowers are gone. Open the back door and it smells like a portto. After 4 years I should be used to it.
