It's not malicious as much as it is a mind set or misinformed understanding. I have done the same thing myself. Somehow it seems easier and more personal. Never is much thought given to the fact that regular users have seen and answered the same questions a myriad of times.

As new people don't do this just to irritate the old timers, it's probably a better idea to give a short answer along with explaining that more thorough information can be found by searching. It's a much better strategy than insulting and alienating new users because you find their redundant questions personally annoying. (as do we all  )
No.
And yes.

But insulting and alienating others makes me feel far superior than when I stoop to their level and forgive them their ignorance!.

Well at least you don't just default to male, I appreciate that.

I usually use the singular 'they'.

Yeah, me too. When I first moved to SF I noticed these 6 foot 3 rail thin model looking draped in slinky skirts visions of beauty down on Market street, women so gorgeous that they were too good to be true....

Generally I conceive of art in the feminine, and the Plug n Plays in the masculine, while "they" is reserved for those oppressing me or who simply don't get "it".

And most the time when I'm trying to figure out where "default" lies, it is a man........

As for what did I miss, I was actually asking about the over-all thread here, just for laughs. (So this whole Middle East thing, can someone sum that up for me in a paragraph or two? Thanks.)

Caravancicle and Lost Hotel got a lot of attention

That one scam artist guy, too

I don't think the threads actually named many other camps, but I may have not read closely enough.

It would be nice to keep track of what and where the PnP camps are for "reeducation" purposes ... PnP reeducation camps - I'm sure the BRCCP is on it! heh

Basshenge hit a bunch of 'scam' posts on various social media sites too. The big scam camp that left the piles of MOOP was Gypsy Flower Power.

And... I think it's time to put a fork in this discussion and call it done, it's descended largely into complaints and attacks on camps (and people) they don't like or haven't been to but don't like what someone has said about them.

There has been much discussion over the last few months years here and elsewhere on the subject of plug and play (aka turnkey) camps. Those not familiar with the subject can learn a lot with a little bit of searching, and those who've been through it are probably keenly aware of the issues that do or do not bother them. As we head into the 2015 season and are planning our camps for this year, keep those points in mind. Yes, we all want nice amenities for ourselves and our campmates... but if things go too far there's a terrible risk of really screwing things up. Not just for the campmates who don't get acculturated and don't connect with the event, but for the whole neighborhood and community. Planning a camp for a group can be hard (regardless of size or budget), good luck to everyone doing it!
