I was discussing this the other day, somewhat randomly, about BM and the odd things one just doesn't think about until you're out there.
I found that the smell of the dust kicked me back 25 years to the playground and the smell of the pebbles there. (don't ask why I smell everything, I was a strange kid)... Really, though... It was kind of fitting that the smell out there reminded me of a playground, or at least I thought it was fitting.
Where I'm from (Wisconsin) there is a ton of limestone and that was kind of what it reminded me of.
I know it's "alkali dust" out there, and lime is a base, but is it the same shit? Just powdered limestone blowing around? Or is it something left behind by the prehistoric Lake that once resided there?
Anybody have an answer? I really am just curious now since it came up and I didn't know.
Thanks in advance
