I'm not buying it babe. I can think of only one reason you'd be coloring pink, and it's not from blushing...

I got a nice little visual there. You remember those slip and slides?

This girl is sliding on one of those and everyone is trying different things and she goes head first... like half way down off comes the bottoms... and I swear she didn't even know it until she stood up and realized everyone is staring at her right where the sun don't shine.

=)

Ever since I learned about KY, I've always wanted to make a slip 'n slide that's like 80 feet long. Of course it'd need bumpers if you're going to try to stay on course, but just the task of applying the pre-slide lube to each rider would be worth it!

So what does Kentucky have to do with slip n slides?

Oh, now I get it, I'm kinda slow.

KY+playa dirt = Tar and feathers

That is not a good combo.

I'm still hunting for my shower system for 2005. Any suggestions anyone.

Thanks for the tip. :-)

If I can shed my modesty for a moment, I built a pretty cool shower structure this year. 8' 2x4 posts, platform on top for hot and cold water (dark bucket/light bucket) which T'd together to a standard shower nozzle (not enough pressure though), plywood sheerwalling for stability and privacy (though I'm sure your neighbors wouldn't mind a show) and the piece de resistance, about 20 wood slats for the floor, draining into a collection bucket. I could draw up plans if others are interested in repeating my work!

Kristy, what was wrong with the tripod and shower bag you used this year?

yeah yeah, that's fine, just go ahead and start throwing up the walls now.

Easy to do, poke around and find a billboard company, they will often sell cheap or give away old billboard vinyl. These things can be up to 40 feet long and about 8-10 feet wide. Get two, overlap about 3 feet and; given that KY is a bit expensive for something this big, wet it down with a hose and dishwashing liquid. Have fun.

One of the groups does this at PDF when the weather cooperates and it is a hoot. Since it is so wide groups can go at once. If you are willing to hit it fast enough you can slide right off the other end and I once saw a guy silde on his feet for around 70 feet. I passed this Fall, it was a little chilly for me, last Spring was great, of course I limped for a couple days thereafter. My own fault, on the third run I tried for a shoulder roll through to standing; hey I can do it on dry ground, didn't work.
I like playing with fire.

shower plans

Post by Simply Joel » Fri Nov 19, 2004 9:30 am

Morgan Maximus, a friend of mine made a shower with:

1-inflatable kiddy pool
1-battery powered submersible pump
1-hand-held shower hose
1 or 2-plastic shower curtains
enough 1/2 inch PVC pipe and to make shower curtain frame
4-4 or 5 foot uprights
4-4 foot crossmembers
4-elbows/T's
1-drain hose

I could mod the plans for plexiglass sheerwalling, just for you. :-)

(The sheerwalling adds a lot of strength to prevent swaying in the wind. A couple extra 2x4s or crossbeams would work too)

Okay BETTER IDEA: walls that go up and down like a peep show!

I like the peep show idea! maybe I can add that into my plans.
