Yo, Simon......not enough sand out there. It's mainly silt sizes and finer (yeah, yeah, I know...you've seen the sand and gravel too but it's not enough to be more than a percent over the miles and miles of playa.) Is it because SILT-anistas sounds clunky?

Okay, the BRCCP will at least have one comrade at the Burn this year, after paying our mortal enemies the inflated fee to attend.

Inspired by those champions of Burner culture in "the Project", the BRCCP decided this year to buy up the limit of pre-sale $800 tickets, with plans to sell them to rich folks who might one day "get it". Just like when they vacation in Bali or Maui or Vegas, where they go to "get it". Of course this has all been arranged nicely by the Bmorg, where the more pre-sale tickets the BRCCP buys, the more charitable and generous the BRCCP is towards low income people. I kinda wish an additional surcharge had been added to support Kidsville, that way the BRCCP could also be all about helping out the children.

So, like, I only needed 1 ticket for myself, but if the BRCCP buys 6 pre-sale tickets to sell, that helps low income people attend. We throw in a couple capri-suns, cans of dinty moore, a blanket, call it a camp, and collect 5 grand a pop... for the kids....opps...for the poors.
It isn't greed for the tickets that had us snap them up to sell, but rather charity for the under-privileged. Genius.

And it's all funded by the BRCCP kickstarter campaign.

You better believe I'm gonna dress in an all white loose fitting organic tunic, sit cross-legged, and be called "guru" at this years Burn, due to my generosity of spirit.

See, I'm waiting for the "Project" to spread "Burner Culture" and values everywhere. They are doing the leg work for the party. Once the whole world "gets it" and adapts the 10 vague suggestions, we/they will be everywhere. That, or the rest of the world adapts the look and feel of the Black Rock desert due to environmental degradation and exploitation...

I just don't see how the ideals and goals of the BRCCP are applicable to areas and struggles that don't involve shemaghs, goggles, feathers and warm beer.

Dude, you are SO old school. Why frack when I can do carbon sequestration with liquid carbon dioxide. Fracturing without the toxins, and we get another 20% out of the reservoirs. That fucks up the production curves that the accountants use, and makes them pull their hair out trying to recalculate reserves. It's much more fun to watch a bunch of hairless accounting apes running up and down the hall screaming "They didn't TELL ME they were going to do THAT!" as they ball their fists in genuine frustration.

They quiet down pretty good when you tell them it's not their fault that they're missing out on the latest technology by watching 'Big Bang' reruns on Saturday night. And, every once in a while, one of them LEARNS enough from his/her mistakes to where they can be an asset on the supply side of the sequestration argument.

There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for endangering someone's life in my book. It's why I prefer trenchless methods over cut-and-cover. Trench incidents, alas, are all too common in our society. Guys die when tons of dirt fall on them. Unless you get them out in less than a minute, rescuers become body recovery specialists. Laser guidance allows me to do horizontal boring WITHOUT cut and cover.

Fracking...depends upon whether you're talking shallow or deep. And, by the way, the CORRECT term is frac-ing. No 'K".
