Any takers (besides Ygmir)?
RUUN RUUUN get to the shuttle Quick!!!! If you don't make it, you are fair game!

The stars have aligned and it looks like I'll probably be hoppin' on The Zephyr in Truckee and joining the AMTRAKATHON for the ride and camaraderie!

If all goes well... I plan to the bring the Infamous Volcano~ Flambe~ gourmet coffee cocktail show! It'll be schweet and delicious, not to mention a custom spectacular Gourmet ~Flambe Cocktail~ designed especially for US!

Does anyone know if there's a coffee maker in the suite(s)? I'll bring all the coffee, booze, glasses, fire dust, etc. I can bring a 12 cup coffee maker but I'd rather bring MORE glasses and booze. I plan to be prepared to make about 10 to 12 cocktails...each cocktail served with two straws...sharing is delicious and sexy! For those of you who were there you've seen this amazing Flambe Cocktail at Illy Dilly's Gnome Dome back in 2012. PINEAPPLE!

The weather looks great for next Saturday. Probably in the 60s again so it looks like I might be able to attend.
The train arrives around 4ish? correct? I would like to contribute to shuttling some. Even if it's just on trip. If I took my pick-up, I could easily have room for several suitcases, but it's a 1995 Ford regular cab plus a stick shift so I could only haul definitely one MAYBE two at the most. I've had three in the cab before. If I take my car, the opposite. I could take definitely three, possibly four. But the trunk space would be limited. It's a 2011 Chevrolet Impala.
Where would the pick-up location be? I'd guess Lake St or Center St between Commercial Row and Plaza?
If I'm able to help in this manner, should I put a sign of some kind on my vehicle. Sands Shuttle: BM Shuttle: Amtrakathon Shuttle etc?
No Smoking in either vehicle please!

so I'd suggest any of us "shuttles" meet at the Sands, maybe no later than 3? we can sit in the bar or whatever.
then, maybe someone on the train can call one of us, give us an eta, and we can meet you all there? it might be better than guessing and trying to find parking and all that......we could time it so you call when getting off the train, and by the time you get your luggage, we're there double parked for "express service"?

we just need one, maybe Doc? to call from the train, Truckee for a "heads up" and then when pulling into the station, so we have the 10 mins necessary to get down there?
I have a long be pickup, so can probably haul all the luggage at once if we can get it all in one pile?
I can also take 3 short legged in back and one tall in front.

who else can shuttle?

Wonderful!

If signage is needed I like AMTRAKATHON!

I'll be carrying two bags, each packed with long stemmed glasses and bottles of Liqueurs etc, so this will be a tremendous help.

To all of you "Shuttlers" THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Nice, Just Joe!! In AZ, we don't have front license plates. This would do Nicely!
Now, I want to find another way to get there... had decided not to go this year because of an April trip for my Mom's 90th birthday, which made the AmtrakAthon a bit of an extravagance. The original plan would have me around Las Vegas by now, and arriving in Reno early tomorrow afternoon.
As it is, I'm sitting in front of my computer at home, cursing myself for not winning the lottery last week.

I just KNOW, all the friends who do get to be there, will be having a total BLAST!

Wow! Super cool, Joe! Thank YOU!!!!!!!! There's a kitchen bar in the main Penthouse...perhaps that would look good hanging there on the wall?!
& remember to take it home, too! Cool bit of schwag I must admit ;)

I measured my "allowable' bags and they're actually quite big. Thankfully they have a handle/wheeled combo, because they're gonna be jam packed with everything from long stemmed glasses to silver trays and everything you can imagine in the way of delicious gourmet liqueurs! This could be my last Reno area Volcano firedrink show for some time to come...so, again BIG THANKS go out in a BIG way to all of you shuttlers! 8)

Aaaaand Patsh... If I win my lotto, we'll send the jet for you and yours! Maybe someone will bring a laptop and we can Skype?! That'd be interesting! PINEAPPLE!

I have a last minute request!

If possible could someone from Reno please bring 2 cans of sweetened ready to squirt whipped cream to the party?! I cannot travel on the train with them because they'd spoil. I need them for the ~Volcano Fire drinks and if anything I'm sure we can find other uses for them ;) juuust kidding! No really...if someone sees this from Reno please pick up a couple of cans of the good stuff! Thank you! :P

Okay, cool lucky! Thanks big time!

Ratty, that was funny as shit! heh heh!

Holy Moly El...I was just thinkin' about you and your ultra cool coffee maker! I'll Pm ya! I just need enough coffee to make about 12 to 18 cups. Hot is best. And it can be done in small batches. I'm such a worry wort and want the coffee to be made and taste decent or better! At this point I'm having issues cramming my 12 cup Mr coffee maker into my carry on baggage...not as easy as I thought!

I added a touch of playa dust to the fire dust and did a test ~Volcano last night and it came out great!

Okay as it stands Myself & Ellorum have mini coffee makers. Yggy's idea of a carafe is great too (average size should be fine) and I imagine the rooms, suites and penthouses will have some sort of coffee makers and microwaves for reheating the coffee. :coffee:

I'd pack my MrCoffee but there's no way it'll fit, lol! I'd rather bring more alcohol and need to keep carry ons under 50 pounds... Oy!

Scrambling to pack and make it to The Zephyr ON TIME! :D

Cheers!

It was super fun and awesome!

Met thecatman. We rode the elevator up together and then intro'd each other when we realized we were heading to the same party. :D it was good to finally meet you catman! Got to meet Just Joe too. Hi Joe!

I'm home now but there is a small party headed out to the playa. I think someone will try and send a pic from the Gerlach cam...

Thanks Doc Pyro for once again bringing the fun (hope you're feeling better)

Happy Birthday Red Vixen!

Moonie did a great job amazing all those who had never seen his flaming fire drink. Well done Moonie!

Massages were gifted by a nice man. He's a pro and I think he gave every female there the gift of a neck/back rub.

At one point I got super silly and just had some really good laughs...so munch fun.
