Well, yes, never too obtuse...I seem to remember people saying they sell out within the first couple hours, or it's really, really hard to get through, or something like that. Just wondering if there's an extra special way to approach it- is online better chances than phone, or whatever. I've not done it before so just wondering. Is it like trying to buy big concert tickets where the lines are jammed and hardly anyone can get through and all the cheap ones are gone within x minutes? Do I need to be right at my computer with a trigger finger(s) at the exact o'clock when they go on sale? That's what I'm wondering.
I stayed up all night waiting for the tickets to go on sale at mid-night cal. time them went there the purchasing process 4 or 5 times with the pages clearing before I got any conformation of having completed it I went to bed around 4 then when I got up I bought a ticket at the next tear and it was confirmed eventually the first purchase was confirmed so I canceled the second order . I missed a day of work to do this and the aggravation didn't seem worth the $20 I ended up saving.

Of course there's going to be drama in this camp, because. . .tisha2 wrote:*gasp* NO!stuart wrote: There is gonna be drama in this camp, oh yes there is, so you might as well mitigate it in any way you can.
we're gonna have
E-Playa Improv!!!!!
After all, this board is replete with Thesbians. So they stand there and the rest of us call out the names of e-playans and the name of a thread and they will give us an impropting acting out of those personalities and that situation. Fun! Fun! Fun!

What do I bring to the camp?
A hearty dose of silliness. I can run a couple of craft projects if there's room. My gifting tree. I'm sort of a flake when it comes to doing things. I always seem to prefer to leave thing open-ended rather than actually finish them. I HATE to admit this to you guys, but I'd hate even more to let you down. If there's someone who can give me the occasional peptalk (on the phone) and listen to my completely neurotically self-imposed impediements, I think I can get past that. Last year, I brought a bunch of costume and other assorted gifts that sort of developed out of what I found in the summer--not to mention the 75 gift cards with pendants for the meet'n'greet. I offer that to show you I do have energy--and am not a total loser. I do tend to tire easily on-playa, too. Also remember, I can't be too much of an albatross if I'm actually staying at one of the ESD camps.
My preference is not to have loud sound. I prefer verbal play and well, noise tends to cut down on that. However, I recognise that this camp is going to reflect the needs and priorities of those who camp there and put in the most work.

Good on ya mate! You'll need to register if you want to be mapped, but being mapped is not a requirement. To be on the 'splade you'd better have more then a chill space. Might I suggest a whipping bench as well. you da man!samtzu wrote:[

Isn't the party where you make it? Camp out on the outer ring and make it worth the trek!tonytohono wrote:[Tisha, you'd think if we had enough people committed to this, as a representative of this site we might be able to get a decent location, even if it isn't right on the esplanade, maybe up a couple of slots in a side street. Lots of juice, 3 parts mixer to one part booze. The clear stuff works well, vodka, rum and tee-kill-ya. Lots of juice is essential. Then have cans of beer and crush the cans. Make people bring their own cup. Is it a gioft bar or a barter bar. You could ask people to "make a post" before you serve them. Bars are an excellent way to promote interactivity which is why I favor barter bars. did I mention you need lots of juice?tonytohono wrote:[Most of the bars at BRC seem to stick to one drink, usually some unspecified concoction served punch style, and only during certain hours of operation. It would be nice to have more than one alternative drink. Another thing is that if it is open 24/7 we are going to be inundated with thirsty burners. =)

then you can't be mapped. I favor being mapped. Many, many advantages. Especially when you consider what a disjointed group it's going to be, i.e., folks coming from all over, arriving whenever and not even knowing what the other folks look like.outer ring
lots of good productive stuff has been bandied about that you seem te be covering again. Have you read the thread?

you can also get a cleu here, that's where i got mine...samtzu wrote:Giggle wroteFuck!! That cracks me up!!! That's a great idea!! Work on it, Giggles, Darlin'... that will work perfectly for the bar...Another idea I had was "get a clue, give a clue" maybe a big MIXING bowl type of thing, with paper for veterans (jolly and disgruntled alike) to write their infinite wisdom upon to toss in the bowl; the poor clueless newbies can come and fish for their daily, hourly, minutely dose of much-needed direction....fortune cookie style, if you will......[/list]
And if you find any of my clues, let me know... I've been missing most of them lately... .
