Sigh, so it appears I didn't do something right and I'm not fully registered. Last month I setup my burner profile after getting this email:

IMPORTANT: You must log back in to complete your Burner Profile and provide all required information in order to get access to Burning Man ticket sales - simply signing up for an account DOES NOT GET YOU ACCESS TO TICKET SALES.

Sadly now I find out there was some button I needed to click even after I registered and filled out my profile that only appeared last weekend? Thinking positively but this year is not off to a good start

In addition to setting up/updating your burner profile, there was a registration period last week. This information was on the ticketing page and in the JRS, as well as in the post about tips on the individual sale.

Do not fear, you are still able to enter STEP when it opens, and the OMG sale.

Sadly I thought I read all of those things, I just missed the end where it mentions filling out my profile *and* pre-registering. I thought since my profile was complete I was registered and not that there was a separate piece that only appeared during that window. I'm pulling for the rest of my group, I'm just usually the one who's on top of ticketing stuff and this is a real bummer

My buddy did the same thing last year. Just be ready for STEP, and communicate with your local burners and you'll get one. My buddy registered in STEP right away and got his ticket at the end of May.

Good luck. One less person I need to battle with for those tickets!

I had a campmate who was planning on participating today, and we were in communication last week when pre-registration started and she couldn't get through. I must have told her 2-3 times to relax, she had until Saturday at noon to register, and then I said it again in the email I shot her when all the server issues were behind us. Somehow, she completely spaced and somehow thought she had until Wednesday to pre-register, and wrote me yesterday when she realized her mistake. *facepalm*

I feel bad for her. She's a smart person and is generally pretty radically self reliant and the sort of person who pays attention to the little details but just has a lot on her plate right now... so she'll jump on STEP when that opens and keep her eyes open in the after-market. She's determined to go, and I'm hopeful that she'll be successful in getting tickets in the months ahead.

I'm not even in the registered sale today and I am still getting nervous butterflies in the stomach the closer we get to the start time.

I also have a friend that forgot to register. His wife did, so she will have to be Johnny on the Spot to secure tickets for both of them. I am glad one of them remembered!

I have butterflies this morning. I already logged into ticket fly to make sure my address is correct and I know the password and all that. I don't want any hiccups.

Such a weird year for me. If I get my ticket I will likely have to go very late in the week (Thursday or Friday), which bums me out, but my main mission is to take my dad's memorial to the temple, so I only have to get there by Sunday morning. And if I had to, I could jump in my van, make a few stops for food and water and be ready for the playa.

Good luck everyone that is trying today. I am not looking forward to the sob stories about not getting tickets. Fingers crossed.

I am just aware there might some very disappointed people today, including myself. I thought I had done the correct thing and registered and confirmed I had a profile set up. Apparently, what you were asking this year, which is different than other years, to not only have a burner profile, but click through to additional register during a specific window of time so you have the right to wait to get tickets today. As a 8 year veteran, who feels I contribute significantly to the playa, I'm sure if I was meant to go home this year, I will find another way to obtain a ticket and vehicle pass, but I wanted to bring to your attention it was NOT explicit the additional step required this year to buy tickets today, at least to this burner, and the few burners I have just spoke with today. Perhaps you can HALT sales for 3 more days and allow those caught in this loophole to still register. Namaste - Playadog

I wouldn't expect any action from this. The registration button worked exactly the same last year as it did this year.

+1 to what danibel said. Not only is this process unchanged, but it was spelled out pretty clearly and posted on the ticketing page, in the FAQ, in the JRS, on the blog, on FB and on Twitter (multiple times, actually), and on this site.

The big thing for me was that it wasn't in the email I got (see OP). While I definitely understand I missed it in all of the other locations, I was relying on the registration email I got which said:

You must log back in to complete your Burner Profile and provide all required information in order to get access to Burning Man ticket sale

I feel it would have been much clearer if it included something to the effect of:

You must log back in to complete your Burner Profile and provide all required information in order to get access to Burning Man ticket sale as well as sign in and click "Register for individual sale" between 12pm (noon) PST on Wednesday, February 11 and 12pm (noon) PST on Saturday, February 14

To me it just seemed like I was good to go when in reality all I had done was setup a profile which was not registering
