Aloha from Melbourne !

Post by groeg » Sun Feb 22, 2015 7:36 pm

Hey there global burners

I am a 25 yo female about to embark on my first Burn with 5 amazing mates!

We are a mix of personalities, but all super friendly 20 somethings who love a good experiential party..

If any of you have any theme camps that are still accepting burners, if you could let me know. We are trying to organise whether we should join a camp or go it alone. Does anyone feel strongly either way?

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Yes. Lots of folk do indeed feel strongly about this. On both sides.

Actually you'll find a lot of topics to do with this event evoke strong feelings from people. Just spend some time on this board, you'll see ;)

Plenty of camps will still be open for new members but most probably won't accept folk until they've got a ticket sorted. Keep an eye out in the 2015 Camps, Art & Activities thread for camps looking to recruit.

And hello from Sydney!

Oh and if you aren't already I'd recommend joining the Burning Man Australia and Burningman in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Facebook groups to hook up with other local Burners.

Welcome,

I'm in Sydney and also attending for the first time with a good mate (or two if we can score another ticket). I'll keep an eye out for you on the Playa.

Looking forward to it Peter. Are you camping by yourselves or in a theme camp?

Hi Crease, We could all chime in at every opportunity and mention in passing that we are looking for tickets. I know you are only allowed to bump your own 'ticket wanted' thread once a week. It's 6 months away. If everyone wanting a ticket sings their plight on all the threads this board will look like a hat full of assholes. And that's counterproductive to getting anything.

Still working out the logistics - we're tending towards camping by ourselves but there is a lot to oragnise. Also tossing up whether to go for an RV or not - I prefer the idea of camping but coming from overseas we need to buy, hire or take a lot of stuff whereas an RV has a lot of it built-in.

If you're going to do an RV, you better do it now. It may already be too late.

Noted, I wasnt aware of it a few weeks ago when I posted it. Was just being overly proactive at that time.
