TO BEdazzle OR NOT TO BEdazzle
TO BEdazzle OR NOT TO BEdazzle
Dear Intertubes:
I am getting married on Playa this year, and my future husband and I would like to create one-of-a-kind sparkle nonsense Elvis jumpsuits encrusted with thousands of glittering jewels, and I thought perhaps we could use a Bedazzler - you know, that thing from the 90's that your mom used to make her stretch-pants-and-oversized-t-shirt kicky and fun!
Anyhoo, I've never used one, so I am hoping someone here can assure me that, if used properly, the Bedazzler will create a firm-enough grip on a sturdy fabric (likely a poplin or lighter canvas) that absolutely no MOOP will be created. While I have hand-sewn hundreds of buttons on a jacket, I would so much rather lay back eating doritos and watching Judge Judy while the Bedazzler turns my humdrum wardrobe into a night never to be forgotten.
Because I may be lazy, but I Shall Not MOOP.

Re: TO BEdazzle OR NOT TO BEdazzle
Sounds like a MOOP disaster waiting to happen. Is the bedazzling really necessary?
I suppose you could do a test run and make a similar garment beforehand and be rough with it. But I honestly do not see a way for you to do this without MOOPing all over the place. The risk / reward just isn't worth it, imo.
Best of luck!

Re: TO BEdazzle OR NOT TO BEdazzle
Bedazzlers & other rhinestone setters use prongs, so they will hold to the fabric, since they're set from the back, but if the prongs get snagged there is indeed a chance for mooping (do NOT use the "hot-fix" style rhinestones, there is way too much chance for failure!), but it should be safe for the playa. If you want to be absolutely sure you could put a drop of super-glue for porous surfaces on the back of the rhinestone before setting it, but you would have to work fast & extremely neat (I have a friend who would do this for drag outfits, but I don't recommend it for amateurs! I'd never do it.).
Edit: Google "brisk set rhinestone setter" or just "rhinestone setter" for options. You want one in this kind of style:

Give it a try. You can beat up a sample piece to see how it holds up. With metal fittings, its gotta be more secure than the glue on stuff and mass produced glitter shit.
Probably better than sequins.

Well, individual sequins with a bead to hold each on won't Moop, but that is a damn pain in the ass.
3-D fabric paint in crystal and glitter is what you want. Brands include Scribbles and Tulip. They last forever. You can even embed jewels into the paint, and it holds on the playa.

I have a bedazzled bra and a bedazzled shirt. Both have held up really well. Just make sure you apply them correctly.
Pro tip, pay attention to your chafing points. Don't bedazzle where skin rubs.

That's the answer I was looking for! Thanks for the tips, all. The only question remaining is, can the Bedazzler create a MOOP-free connection through several layers of vaginal tissue? Because vejazzling with mere glue certainly isn't strong enough!

Is there some way to combine the va-j-j-jazzle with a more playa friendly product?ygmir wrote:I vote for
