There's a Wednesday morning marathon thing every year, isn't there? It happens awfully early in the morning, but on the plus side that time of day isn't as hot.

Trilo's right. They held it for the first time three years ago, I think. I'll look it up. Now, we need to get off-track betting in BRC. Doc Pyro to win 5:1 against, 3:1 to place, and 2:1 to show. Since it's a currency -free einvornment, what do we bet? Shots?

2:1 to show? Put me down for a dime on that action.

Ya gotta hear this one.... I'm cleaning out some unneeded furniture and other stuff by selling it on a local website. So now I'm arranging with a lady to come here on Saturday to buy a framed print by a half-famous wildlife painter. She wanted to meet me at Walmart at 10 a.m., but I long since filled my quota of waiting for people at rendezvous locations. So here is her latest missive, after I sent her detailed directions from Walmart to my house:
Ok, I will try and get over there Sat. I have dead fish to take back to Walmart for replacements. I'll let you know. It will not be early, sometime before or after Noon time.
Maybe I would be better off telling her the print is already sold, and tossing it in the trash?

Is it too big to bring to the playa? I would have a use for it.

Wayward art, indeed. If she does not show up, I could bring it, but it is kind'a commercial-looking. And I would worry about breaking the glass on Playa. Let's see if she shows up. If not, I could take the glass out, and then bring it.

Regardless, I have a hand-painted gadget from Norway that I will bring you, and a couple other small things.

re: the BRC marathon. I saw a video made by two participants, it looked like it was several laps, and they played and danced as the opportunities presented themselves. Looked like they had a great time.

4 am, and I am up. Coffee on, oven lit, potatoes peeled and in the pot to par boil before schredding into hashbrowns. A dozen eggs beaten and in the pitcher for making scrambeled eggs. A baking pan layered with stripes of bacon is lowered into the oven. Omlete veggies diced and put on station. 24 hour wait for email for acceptance of low income ticket application .6 weeks later we will find out if we are going this year. I have a feeling I waited too long to apply, and that 4,000 folks are ahead of me. I might have to make other plans for Labor Day. This month and a half are the longest of the year for me. I sweat it every year, silly me . Ok, the fixins are set... Make your own damn breakfast!

Yes, please. Coffee :coffee: :coffee:
Big decision today. Housing. Either one year lease, new kitchen and carpet upstairs apt. Nice. Or 6 month lease, raggedy very old duplex with laundry (may or may not work, not supported by landlord) oil heating, and garage (no electricity in garage) yay garage. Leaning towards garage, roll up door is off the track. The agent said she would have it fixed, but judging from the rest of the place, I wonder.

Morning MDF, Lucky and Elorrum. Too early to be up. God luck on your choice of digs, Elorrum. Only thing for us to do at this hour is to dive into the NEB for a cuddle and a bit of semi comatose dreaming beautiful gossamer dreams.

(((Marty))) NEB sounds great!

(((Elorrum))) Raggedy has never bothered me, but, I'd be wary of things too broken for me to fix!

If you'll have more peace of mind with the nicer than go for it. Think of the stairs as part of your fitness routine...

Hi gang!!
well Ellorum, ..........is it stuff you can fix up without a lot of expense? Garage is so nice.
some landlords will credit some rent for fixing things, maybe ask about that. Or at least buy the materials.

Right now, feeling a bit poorly. Wednesday is the angioplasty so I should be back on the Courts by the following Saturday or Sunday feeling a whale of a lot more chipper. Amazing what increased blood flow through the heart can do to pep one up! Taking it easy until then, except for my buddy Anne and I going to the Burnal Equinox on Saturday night. Can't miss being immersed in all that youthful energy. A friend told me "no pre stent stunts" I'm listening.

Happy birthday Trilo!!
Good happy Friday to all.
It's going to be a wonderful weekend here in Northern Nevada, @70°.
Thinking about heading up to the playa just to check it out.
Maybe also go to petrified canyon and look for petrified wood.
