I would just like to say that Fucking bathtub stoppers operated by a lever are the devil's invention. After bailing water for a week I finally decided to pull the apparatus out through the overflow pipe where the lever is located. I hate plumbing! Now the tub drains. Yippy. I'm replacing it with an old fashioned plug on a chain.

Speaking of bathtub drains...
last week my tenants called saying the tub won't drain. Well, the previous owner of the house got real creative when they put in that tub. Suffice to say that if I couldn't get it to drain I would be tearing out tub, floor, walls then cutting into concrete. So making it drain was pretty important. After a solid hour with a manual snake I finally pulled out a metal piece of the stopper mechanism that had traveled 3 feet down the drain pipe and was of course loaded with disgusting hair. My tenant, knowing the tub situation joined me in a loud cheer!
So I guess rather than fuck, this is FUCK YEAH!

I've got plenty of food, the water pipes aren't frozen, and I have a couple of fifths of Jim Beam, a bottle of Martini and Rossi sweet vermouth, and a couple of bottles of wine on the counter. I'm not drinking today, though.
I'm contemplating one of the harder questions of my life. With Tom dead, I'm the only one left to train the young engineers and geologists about trenchless technology. I don't, deep in my heart, know if I'm 110% up to the task.
I'll miss him. He was a friend.

Well fuck. I just was informed they are going to close my office. (I guess Yggy this means no more lunches together anytime soon.) So soon I will be commuting to Folsom instead of an easy 7 minute drive to Auburn. This sucks on so many levels. Just the hassle of moving and the upheaval involved blows. Oh well, at least I stil have a job I suppose.
