Of course. I'm so slow sometimes. Fire is much much better.
Seriously though, a sign would probably be good. Someone might come up and squat, either in the middle of the night by accident or deliberately. If they won't leave, Rangers would probably be a good idea.
If they won't force them to leave, get creative.

I like the double meaning.

"MINES! MINEFIELD!"
"Yeah, yeah, OK, it's yours. Your field. Keep it."

Re: Countering blue flag abuse?
From a camp that is pretty disorganized and we lose several campers the first few days every year cause they just can't figure out how to read a map correctly, I can say yes frustration can be present, and can come out in the most inopportune situations. I used to hold space until mid week for those I knew who were going to be there and were maybe misplaced. But, time has a way of changing ones priorities and now its first come first served in my book.
Said you were coming in on Monday at noon and you drop by the bar on Wednesday out of the blue and want to move camps? And the tequila you pledged to the bar has mysteriously disappeared? Well, I gave your spot away to that couple over there who share beef jerky and brought a beer bong.
PS. dust makes you look fat.
Anyways, my way of saying, its good to be flexible. Its totally American to honor the land grab tradition. But dammit, open your arms and your hearts to the clean, washed masses.
Unless they're shirtcockers. Then its OK to move them along to 2 and 10.
