What the actual *?!$?!

/begin rant

Ok, so I only come here once a year to bitch. Let's get that out of the way now, so at least there is something to flame me for ;)

So, like everyone else, I sat in front of my mac on the 18th at 20:00GMT.

I watched the funny little man running along for only about 20 minutes and reached the landing page. Bonus, I thought.

I logged in to TicketFly (please no more stinking TicketFly) got to the buy tickets page and.........

.......

There was no buy button!

I checked with my co-waiters who had reached that page a good 10 minutes after me. They had a buy button! I did not!

I opened a ticket with Ticketing Support the next day and was told that I had "just missed out this time" (yeah, right) and to register with STEP on the 18th March.

I went grumbling away, convinced I was diddled out of a ticket.

I went to register for STEP last week (as advised by Ticketing) and......

Couldn't register. It said I wasn't "eligible" to purchase. Here we go again, I said to myself.

I contacted Ticketing Support again and this was their answer:

Hello Jake,
According to our records you purchased a vehicle pass from the February 18th ticket sale. Purchasing from one of our sales makes you ineligible from participating in a future sale. Please look to other means to have your ticketing needs for the year met.
Best,

I didn't buy anything in the sodding Feb 18th sale as I couldn't buy anything in the damn sale ferchrissakes!! I have no confirmation of buying a VPass, nor were any of my payment methods charged for the same, and why would I buy a bloody VPass without a ticket and then try to buy a ticket a month later?!

What the actual fuck is going on with BM ticketing? The first time I went to BM (08) the ticketing seemed easy. Now it seems like a massive crock of shit.

My name is not Franz Kafka but I am considering changing it.

Is this an isolated incident?

Then your life is not adversely affected in any way!

You essentially gifted your ticket to another burner in the queue. Yay!

All is well. ;)

Trust a burner to put a positive spin on it. Pah. Please allow me my grumpiness ;)

On a more serious note (or is it really? In today's world) I may have not been gifting my tix. This is a fuckup, pure and simple, and to read in another thread that there aren't enough VPs is slightly ironic, no?

Quadraspleen. I welcome your rant. Yell it loud. My experience wasn't the same but it was just as frustrating. In the main sale I couldn't get the link to appear to get into the Que. I joined it 10 minutes late. Signing in and refreshing didn't help. Then it was a long wait. I can't think of a system to replace it but I'm sure there is a room full of people working 24/7/365 on just that. Or maybe not

The place to follow up on ticket support issues is with the ticket support team. Forward the email notification you received (or reply to the message if it was from the ticketing support case) to [email protected] - and be sure to include any support ticket numbers from previous exchanges (that way they can easily connect the email to the right case). Someone could have used your code, or there could have been a glitch in the system that somehow flagged the profile as having previously participated even though you had not.

Yes, 2008 was much easier. Sure, there were tons of problems for ticket buyers on the very first day tickets went on sale, but the event did not sell out (that didn't happen for the first time until July 2011).

I do recommend that you follow up with ticket support, since if there was a glitch of some kind then any info you can provide would help them investigate and hopefully help prevent people from experiencing it in the future.
