David Best has been behind many of the temples that we have seen at Burning Man (at least for the time that I have been attending). I have found anger, hate, sorrow, penance, desire and contentment as a result of his efforts.
When I was talking to my parents this morning, they told me about this New York Times article featuring David.

The title of this post is my notion of the Temple. I do not expect anyone else to have the same reactions..

I'm giving this a nudge over to the Open Discussion forum, since that's a better fit for discussion about stuff beyond Black Rock City.
Great piece, and I've been enjoying most of the coverage and photos/videos posted by friends over the last few weeks. You can also find news coverage of the event on the BBC news site, as well as local Irish/Northern Irish news outlets.

Yup. It made the local news here in L.A. too, along with Best's connection with the Burning Man Temples.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

It's also worth noting that the NYT not only had that story, but it was on the front page of their site with a couple pictures, too.
Re: Temple - Agent Of Healing
Was just about to post a thread on this to see if there were any Burners from Derry going this year.
Not sure the NYTimes have gotten their historical facts politically correct but it really is a fantastic thing to happen in Northern Ireland.
if im being honest I wasnt just sure how this would be received back home. Bonfires are always associated with sectarian tensions and violence, but im glad to see it turned out to be a massive success. I think this is in part to having a fresh approach and different thinking from an American artist to cross-community projects which have always been poorly thought out failures implemented by staunch religious politicians who are completely out of touch with modern attitudes.
Some good photos on here from it.
