Morning on another glorious day of unseasonably warm and sunny weather here in the SF Bay Area.

Great story in the NY Times about the Londonderry burn of the David Best Temple. Brought together the two sides from either side of the river in a spirit of "One Derry" Beautiful to read and a beautiful happening.

I loved everything about that project and that burn, have loved the photos on friends' walls and in the press, and wish I could have been out there for it. From what I could tell, it was a much more intricately detailed design than David's done on the playa, and that's saying a lot!

It does appear to be a bright and sunny day, though I haven't been out of the house just yet. Our building maintenance guy is doing some stuff around the loft, and it's got our younger cat in a tizzy. She's torn between a desire to run and hide, and being curious and friendly and wanting to investigate. That translates to her bravely exploring the area, and then falling back quickly to a place of safety. When there's an unusual noise, she comes racing to me at my desk and starts squawking to tell me and then jump on my lap to get reassurance pets. Damn cat, so cute.

In between cat therapist sessions, I'm trying to tinker with the model of my theme camp for this year.

Hey bar! I've been lurking but little spare time for any more...
First week on the new job is _very_ promising. Looks like people who walk their talk, collaborate freely, friendly atmosphere... The work is intense and they are driving pretty hard, but not stupid stuff like expecting insane hours from salaried folk.

Once again the Hof is totally out of the question - one of these years.

Last night out in SF, I am headed to see a rockabilly/punkish band. Outside of a neighboring venue I spot a familiar figure sporting a dapper outfit, complete with hat, and holding a camera. As I pass on the sidewalk I overhear someone refer to the gent by name, confirming my suspicions. "Eric." I stop to go introduce myself, hesitate, think about it.... He really looked like he was having an enjoyable evening, so I spared him and continued on to my show. The show was great fun. Finally, finally a mosh pit that was both my physical and intellectual match. Man, those 12 year old thugs sure brought the ruckus.

Not trying to speak for Eric, but I'd venture that he almost always is having a good time when he's out. You should have stopped and said hello.

I know Ygmir. But I'd say we have a pretty good record or randomly meeting, like at gate one year, in passing as I was on my way to AntiM's this past year, the Meet-N-Greet, etc. I had a great visit with GoatHead and Mona last year, which was a first in a long while. Maybe this year. (Oh, and we don't serve root beer floats anymore. It's been fruit smoothies in an actual sit-down cafe for several years now. And if I'm around, I can add a vodka shot to give it a little kick. )

I'm fortunate enough to see the milky way from backyard pretty much every night even though the lights of Reno are a mere 40 or so miles north. Especially in the summer

Getting ready for another week at the grind stone. Sealing cracks in VC. Again, the 10min commute is great as opposed to 45min to Reno.
Astronomy is another topic that has fascinated me. Love pictures like that ygmir. Beautiful picture

After recovering from a major Morris Burner Hotel hangover all day Saturday my allergies got the best of me Sunday. My mulberry tree will be trying to kill me for the next 5-6 weeks or so...
