My Mom used to drive miles away just to get fresh leaves for our silk worms. I guess mulberry trees weren't prevalent in our neck of the woods.

Yay Monday!!!! Don't hate me because I have a new take on the day, it being my Saturday now.

Led Zeppelin concert movie event in Sparks tonight, anyone want to come?

Chicken and butternut squash soup cooking on the stove. I'm feeling the Reno pollen some, it being a new variety for me. I like the traditional medicinals breath easy tea.

Good morning Da Bar!
*sets out carrot fillets for War Rabbit, and some cheese doodles in the Da Mule VIP parking space.*
Time to clean out the storage unit and close out that account. Last items: three bicycles, one solar panel, pvc, rebar, and one boxed 7 1/4" sliding miter saw (an odd item) that may yet one day see the light of day and fine projects. Oh, and then I can put my car seats back in. I love my little hauler with the seats out, but it has a life as a commuter now, and needs some interior accoutrements.

so now, a little coffee, and I've ordered in some breakfast.

Hey all,

:coffee:

It's bright and sunny, but still chilly this morning. As I was walking into the building at work, I couldn't help but notice how the fresh morning air was just beginning to warm the parking lot. It hit a nerve I guess and reminded me of early morning on the playa. I love those moments. A nice way to start a workday!

Hi yg!

I reckon you got your water pipe dilemma straightened out! Whew!

All is well here, despite what seems like an endless stream of chores and projects all clamoring for attention. I was able to take a nice hike in the woods for several hours over the weekend though, and recharge the ol' battery.

aserendipity..

I recall some time ago you mentioning that you are a pretty big Rolling Stones fan. I just saw that they will conduct a 15 city North American tour this summer. Apparently tickets go on sale in a couple of weeks. They have a show in San Diego that you might consider. Good Luck!

It was written by Loren Geller of Playa Bike Repair, in the 9:00 Plaza. A worthy read, indeed.

Good morning bar flies. Happy April Fool's Day.
I have all my antics for the day all ready to go. As time goes on, it's becoming more difficult to come up with fresh material.
I'm getting out of bed early today, so I can prepare for all the frivolity.

Oh crap! It is April Fools Day! Excuse me, but I have some employees to go and fire. (TeeHee) YG, I just love the video snippet. I hope she gets to go and "gets to know".

Happy hump day and April Fool's and whatnot. I'm gonna spend it as far away from social media interwebby things as I can - on most days the clickbaity posts can be tough to take sometimes (and enough of 'em are bs that they may as well be pranks and hoaxes), but today gets to be unbearable. Besides, I've got great motivation. I'm still working on a seasonal flush and re-install of my primary computer, plus I've got a couple projects chomping at the bit and a tasty kitchen project.

Yesterday I slow-cooked two whole corned beef briskets.. actually, braised in Guinness. Last night's dinner was yum, and now that it's cooled off in the fridge I'm gonna thin slice half the leftovers and cube the rest for corned beef hash. Hmmm, what'll I have for lunch today...?

oh that sounds yummy, Trilo. on rye bread I hope.

I made some spicy cole slaw that goes well with BBQ. My own recipe with Mongolian fire oil, mayo, rice vinegar, fresh ground pepper. I like it to mellow some in the fridge.

I finally got my bed set up and have the mattress off the floor, about 6 feet off the floor to be more precise. I need to be mindful for the next few nights when I get out of bed.
