Some here just love to grind folks, some tease, some are just "seeing what you are made of"........not that any of that matters.

I say this, as a person who pretty much out of hand rejects the "rave" culture part of the Burn, the "thump thump" and narcissistic self entitled ness of so many DJ's and associated ticks.
Not saying all are that, just the the most visible seem to be.

but as humans, yup, love'em all.

Lead by example guys! The way I see it, maybe burning man will open his friends eyes, expose his strippers to wonderful people who may have a profound impact on their lives, or maybe they will hate it and never return... but if you really want to share the principles of BM you shouldn't rip people apart just because he thinks differently than you'd like. Do I want a bunch of stripper virgins at my camp? Not really but I certainly wouldn't turn them away or make them feel any less welcome than anyone else I met-

How is the search going for a camp of low character? Kinda sad that the given norm expectation is that the strippers will be female and the DJs are male. Odd that there are so many male DJs vs. female DJs at such an enlightened event as Burning Man, unless, well, the whole EDM and all is just more shill.... Curious why the OP talks about bringing women strippers when it is obvious from his posts that he hates women. I guess he and his bro friends have to keep up appearances to each other of their masculinity, and no wonder they don't want male strippers around to shatter any illusion they have of their own non-existent studlyness. One year we were near another camp that had DJs and a dancers' pole, as their "gift to the playa". They were going to have contests or some such. It was always deserted. We were not that far out either, maybe D street. People's idea of a "gift" and camp concept will be tested by the harsh mistress of the playa. No need to look further than the epic fail of Caravansicle. I don't feel guilty in the least discouraging DJs on ePlaya, and I like EDM. In my experience, exotic entertainers and workers are perfectly able to organize their own camps, do so, and don't need to be "brought".

"DJ" ≠ "EDM"
DJ means you play music, but doesn't specify what style you play.

As some of you around here know, I work full time for DJ/Promoters. We do not play EDM, it's all Music With Words, and there are more DJs in my personal circle who don't play EDM (or just EDM) than there are who do. I'm more than happy to join in the mocking of random people calling themselves a DJ, but I do it because I know what it really takes to be a really good one (and I can't DJ worth shit).

The essence of being a good DJ is good memory, dancing around like you look like you are actually doing something and spending hours and hours per week looking for new tracks.

Mostly correct, but the dancing around is just show, some DJs do it, some don't, it's not essential. I know DJs who can fill a room and keep the crowd dancing their asses off, but stay pretty damn stoic. It's not about how the DJ moves, it's about how they read the crowd, and how well they know their music - i.e.: can they keep the crowds energy going? Even more important - can they pull people into an empty room/ camp/ space, and keep them there?
