Mary reports by e-mail that her father died yesterday. And I see that she has posted on the R.I.P. thread. Mary doesn't hang out in bars much, but I think this Bar will drink a toast to the memory of her father. To Dad! Skål!

The weather-guessers have promised us three days of rain-showers, with perhaps as much as a foot of snow in the Sierra Nevadas, and the first drops are already falling here. Woohoo!

Maryanimal, thinking of you ((((())))

Rained here this morning as well. Not enough to do much good so far. While our county is not in too much trouble, we are a part of the whole state that is in deep trouble water wise. Just read of a small community in the East Bay whose residents are not a part of the local water system and their 150' deep wells are running dry. Happens to be a small upscale community and they have no water! No discrimination. This is beginning to effect everyone. Wonder why there is not more activity on the desalination front???. Expensive, yes, but not as costly as no water, one might think.

Off to the de Young Museum to see a new exhibit today. Good thing to do on a cool rainy day.

Last week had another angioplasty to clear up another coronary artery blockage. Amazing how quickly one feels exponentially more energized! Will be back on the tennis court next weekend! Yippee!!!

Golden State Warriors have been amazing and such fun to watch. Won 63 games and lost only 13.

Carpe Diem, kiddies!!!

Ooooo.... MagicMarty, could you see if the deYoung has Maxfield Parrish's Daybreak on display these days? I have a rather nice print, and I would love to see the original.

Just got back from the deYoung. The exhibit is from the National Galleries of Scotland entitled "From Botticelli to Braque". It was a wonderful exhibit spanning the period from about 1450 to 1949 or thereabout. We loved it and highly recommend it.

Elliot, we did not do any other part of the Museum, so I do not know if they have any Maxfield Parish. (I would speculate that they do) I do love his work and that of some of his contemporaries as well. LF would have loved it (((LF)))

Botticelli -- amazing coincidence... I just finished reading a novel where Botticelli was prominently mentioned. (The Rule Of Four by Caldwell and Thomason)

Parrish's Daybreak used to be a staple at the deYoung, but things sometimes change.

We are still receiving minor rain-showers. But the Great Wet Hope is for tomorrow.

Heya, Sadie. It's gray here, not sure if it's going to rain. Lucky would know. I'm going to keep setting things up, and putting things away. I've been driving with a bike in the car for the last week, and it's time to return to full passenger car status. I'm looking at some designs for freestanding bike racks to see if I can make the bikes "apartment friendly", or the apartment "bike friendly." Leaning them against the kitchen wall, and the trike in pieces, is o.k. for a while though, I guess.

ECM is hot and working I see. It's very likely that my father drank coffee from this machine, as he was stationed in New London in the 50's.

Was in the Atlantis all day for a class and it snowed off and on throughout the day. No accumulation in the valleys.

Something "blue" pertaining to an online box? The answer may be hidden on my website. A FREE ice cold beverage to the first who identifies the hidden "blue" "inside joke" there. (And that's all the clue I'm giving you. Desert survival is supposed to be tough.)

Mornin All!
Getting ready to head up to VC. Gonna ride with one of their crew members to the Atlantis for another day of "learning" or sleeping. Not really. Good, informative classes. Free buffet breakfast and lunch.
Congrats on the $2.00 raise. That's always good to here. I got the same back in November

Right now as I type this, there's a blue "on line" box in the upper right corner by my name
