Someseeingeye, the census is a random sample. they send their crew out to the people in line at gate. The very specific instructions include how to choose which vehicle to approach. (3rd car, 2nd car, 1st car etc...) That way an equal amount of rvs and small cars get sampled. Otherwise the census takers would skip the RVs because it's harder to talk up to a window over your head in a dust storm. This is weighed against the online responses. The questionnaire presented to the cars is of course not as long as the online one but it gives them a base to adjust the results.
