Well, yes... I don't quite see myself with a purple mohawk.

Now.... Patsh suggested the Harley-Davidson logo, and I recognized that it resembles a circus/carnival tent. So I drew this:

The website is now the best it has ever been. There is nothing actually wrong with it now! (That I can see.) I'm moving away from the bright yellow color -- it is simply too hard on the eyes.
Only the LNT page still needs major work.

Apparently nobody has found the hidden inside joke yet.

Does it have anything to do with the missing file? (I remember having just the right file for a bicycle repair, in '12...)
But, that's probably funny only to me.

So, back to studying...

Yes, a couple files are definitely part of my kit now.

As for that faux Windows pop-up, I ought to change the "no" button to also say "yes".

But no, the hidden inside joke is not that. It is not that inside. It is something any ePlayan will may recognize once "the light-bulb goes on". Or anyone who visited EBS the last two years.

Beer prize? Are you referring to the hidden inside joke on the website? I looked thru the whole site just now to see if I could figure out what you might mean. In the one photo where I am wearing a blue shirt, I am also wearing a dark blue denim bib-overall, with the legs cut short. Regardless, no, the Secret Inside Joke remains secret.

All right.... First clue about the gimmick on the website: It is a visual joke. Also, I have made it easier to spot.

Scored a bargain on a small free-standing bar counter with two matching bar-stools at a yard sale today. Need to replace the glass top with something unbreakable, but this thing ought to work well in camp.

Lexan is always fun, watching the drunks trying to break it and having it bounce back..... :-)

Yes, I already had that exact idea. And I was even thinking "Lexan", not that more commonly used name that starts with "plex...". Actually, polycarbonate, right?

Correct. Plexiglas is shatterable, Lexan is not.

Millicent's eyes are on the LNT page. No, the gimmick is not on that page.

Last night I read the entire site. Very, very nice job Elliott. There is some funny stuff in there, (such as the no DJ logo and the reference to frat boys stealing your trash), but I saw no inside joke. Oh well, I love the site and especially the LNT page. I know it was a lot of work but believe me, it was worth it.

Thank you. Yeah, if we cannot have a tiny bit of levity in there, what good would it be.
The LNT is far too long and convoluted to my mind, but it is all the Official Stuff. It could stand a few hours of boiling down.

Captain Cussword has PM'ed me with a possible answer -- he thinks "it" might be the placement of the piano player photo on the Piano Bar page. And he sort'a deserves at least half credit for noticing that, and I did put some deliberate time into it. But there is something else -- something more "in your face", in the currently fashionable vernacular.

Other than this little gimmick, which I may adjust; and photos of a handful additional Campers for the mugshot page; the site can now be considered complete for the time being.

Sooooo Elliott. Are those camp members really who they say they are? Maybe one picture is a very old rendering of someone we know and love. ??? If it's true don't give it away. I have stared at them long enough to know that I can't figure it out.

Does it have anything to do with the angle from which a certain photo was taken, and the view it provides?

:D
Good morning! It is a particularly wondermuss day, and perhaps I will mention that on the Happy Thread. Meanwhile....

No, the gimmick is not on that page. And I don't even know which mugshot would be suspected of being an "old rendering".

Tiahaar.... That big wrench has served me well as a prop on several occasions. But it is not the intended gimmick.

Patsh.... That tiny wrench would be handy to keep in my pocket at all times. It is even a matching size to the other thing I keep "in my pocket". But not related to the gimmick we are looking for.
Nor is any particular angle of a photo. But if you saw something that appears particularly nifty, other than the piano shot, I would like to know about it. Sometimes "I'm a poet but don't know'it".
trilobyte wrote:Kudos on the site, Elliot, it's really looking great!

Coming from a high-tech wizard like you, Sir Trilo, this is high praise indeed. I must point out that GoDaddy did all the computer-techie Stuff. I merely assembled the content with their Website Builder tool. This tool has proven a bit buggy, but I persevered. I did start with a blank screen, rather than one of their pre-configured "themes", since I am a bit of a control freak and wanted to do my own layout.

All right.... Time to drop a hint. And I am in the mood this morning for "much progress, and fast", so I tell you the gimmick is on page 9, and we will be done with it.

Who cares about the provider or the template, it's the content that matters! Your site is fun, useful, and informative, and has some great playa pics in there too.

Which reminds me, I need to get cracking on updating my camp's site....

The apparent "tendency to monitor my blood pressure" is a sharp observation, but that ain't it, and it wouldn't be "fun enough" if it were. (And it is actually a simple self-sticking Ace bandage.) But you are on the correct page.

We will see how highly "fun and informative" the site rates when "it" is identified.
