Re: The Bar 2015 Edition
Mornin' campers!
I just heard that Hillary Clinton when she bought her "Mexican food" at Chipolte didn't even have the courtesy to leave a tip. Why doesn't that surprise me in the least? But you'd think, any "average American" like her who just got a $14,000,000 book deal could leave a lousy two buck tip. Of course, since the women on her staff only make, according to Goverment records, 78% of what her male staffers earn, why would she bother to share the wealth? Those 1%ers never do it seems.

I just heard that Hillary Clinton... ...
We must expect she is a nasty person. Anyone who elbows their way to the front… gets there precisely because they have self-serving traits. But we must have somebody at the front of the parade, so we try to elect those with the best competence for the task at hand. Whether we would want them as dinner companions is immaterial. Hiring a politician is quite like hiring a soldier. Sometimes… the ones we need are “the dirty dozen”.

I could say something about screws and glue and so forth, but it is too easy.
But while I am here....
Few of our Bar patrons have any regular reason to visit my Camp thread, so I announce this: While you are just loitering and drinking anyway, you could try to find the hidden inside joke on the website. The prize is a cold beverage of your choice, served on Playa in early September.
No, I'm not giving any clue yet. But if it goes un-detected a couple weeks, I suppose I will provide a hint.

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition
I'm not one for much political chatter, either. All too often it's polarizing and derails most rational discussions among those who might otherwise get along or collaborate on projects and whatnot. That said, good luck to people or whatever.
Today was busy and wierd on a number of fronts. I wanted to get more done, but the universe was having none of it apparently. Huzzah for the new Star Wars trailer, and hooray for being able to do some basic camera blocking on a video walkthrough project. Hopefully I'll get to push that further along tomorrow.

Hi Lucky!! seeya at Piney's!!!
Star Wars, indeed!! yeah, I've been fortunate enough, to have been raised on old sci-fi, when special effects were janky, often you could see strings or such suspending the "flying saucers"........I think it helped (me at least) us develop an imagination, that allowed for enjoying even that stuff, and living in it. Maybe it was more like reading a book? the super effects, now, are fine, but really I don't need them, to enjoy the movie.
TGIF, though!!!

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition
At times it seems everyone is, and at times it seems everyone's a hater. I don't really care too much about what the rest of the world thinks of it, I've been a fan since seeing it when it opened in Detroit in 1977. Back then there was no opening day as we know it now, movie releases used to be staggered across the country. I remember seeing the preview for it months before, ahead of some other completely forgettable film. When it opened, we had to drive to the other side of town to a place where it was playing, and stand in line for over an hour to be able to get tickets for a show later that day (no thousands of screens, no internet booking, no phone orders). I remember it being weird that we went to the movies, then a diner for breakfast or lunch, and then back to the movies again. Totally packed, we were way off to the side, and I really didn't even know what I was in for. It completely bowled me over, I stopped counting the number of times I saw it in the theater after 100. Only in the 70's, today they'd take a kid into custody and arrest the parents for letting a 10 year old kid walk or ride his bike miles to go see a movie without adults on hand.
It's been killing me that my gf is refusing to watch the new trailer. She's a fan and she's already on board seeing the film when it comes out in December, but she doesn't like watching trailers because all too often they spoil things and she wants to go in knowing as little as possible. I certainly respect that, but the arty geeky person in me wants to talk about the damned thing with her. hehehe.
Alrighty, well it's time to get down to it. I got more than 30 cameras placed in a piece I'm working on, and now I need to fine tune the settings and particulars for each shot. Where's my caffeine?

Just got home from having Mexican food at some friends house in Carson City. Homemade chili rellenos.
I'm one of the few who has never seen any of the Star Wars movies.

Re: The Bar 2015 Edition
Good morning! Great day outside, thanks to some kind of cat conspiracy I was up a lot earlier than I'd meant to be on this fine day, but I've had a little nap and am re-waking up. Time to get dressed and run a few errands, then working on art projects a little later before we get fancied up and head over to the big Airpusher, Flaming Lotus Girls and Marco Cochrane fundraiser shindig. I plan on bringing my good camera, and will do my damnedest to get some great footage of Serpent Mother. I'm really looking forward to tonight!
